About this Cook
I'm a wife and a mom and I love finding new recipes that are quick, easy, and within budget. I'm learning how to plan my weekly meals around what's on sale at the grocery store and what my family likes.
My favorite things to cook
Baking, pasta, healthy salads, lentils in a yummy way
My favorite family cooking traditions
Trying new meals for holidays. I've hosted Christmas and Easter dinner a few times and I like putting a new twist on an old favorite.
My cooking triumphs
My favorite meal "triumph" was sirloin with peperonata for my husband's b-day dinner party and cornish game hens for Christmas dinner for my whole extended family. I also make a mean breakfast sandwich- way better than McDonalds!
My cooking tragedies
Trying to cook chicken in the slow cooker without giving it enough time--it doesn't work!

Ground Beef Stroganoff
This was pretty good, but I made some adjustments based on what I had in the fridge. I used plain nonfat yogurt in place of the sour cream, omitted the mushrooms, added some chopped swiss chard, and used chicken broth instead of beef. I served it over spaghetti. Very stroganoff-ish, but with more flavor in my opinion.

Herb Roasted Pork Loin and Potatoes
This was okay. I've never cooked a pork loin until now and I didn't cook it long enough. Next time I'll remember. I didn't make the potatoes.
