Linda's Cranberry Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2009
A little too sweet for my taste, and like others I feel it could use more cranberries.

Apple Pork Chops

Very tasty and oh! so easy. The only thing I changed was to add a sprinkle of cinnamon along with the cloves, and a 1/4 cup of Sherry in place of some of the water.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
Sooo! Yummy! I had some old apples that needed to be used so chose this recipe since the 10 apples would help fill my need. I made it out of necessity, but what a wonderful surprise... The only thing I would change is to add pecans to the topping mixture, but it is wonderful without.

I like to add a touch of vanilla to my applesauce towards the end of cooking time. It makes it extra special.

I was dissappointed in this recipe. I found it much too dry. I should have followed the reviews that suggested baking it in a water bath.

Tortellini Soup I

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
Wonderful flavor, but I found it to be too thick, more like stew. The Tortellini seems to take up quite a bit of the broth. I used 2 cups of beef broth and two cups of chicken broth, plus a cup of water to make up the difference in the total of 5 cups broth. Next time I will add an additional cup or more of water as I found the broth to be plenty rich. I only used a half of a bell pepper, and since I had green beans in my garden, I added some of them. It could use more carrots. Will definitely make again.....

Tasty Buns

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2009
Their name describes them exactly - TASTY. I found that they make an excellent dinner roll, but a little tender for a hamburger bun, although tasty. I sliced them and toasted them for breakfast with butter and jam...yummy! I halved the recipe, but next time I'll use the full recipe, since they disappeared too quickly. So fast to make, you don't have to plan hours ahead to enjoy this great treat.

Kidney Bean Salad

Reviewed: May 13, 2009
I too have made this recipe for years. My recipe doesn't call for the pickle relish but it does call for 1/2 cup grated carrots and 1 whole cup of chopped celery. More celery gives it a nice crunch and the carrots add color and nutrition. Give it a try...

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 9, 2009
Most Banana Bread recipes call for three bananas, but this recipe requires at least five large. Great recipe for getting rid of all those healthy overripe bananas the kids haven't eaten and sneaking it into them a tasty way.

Easy Roasted Pork

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2009
Yumm! I followed the directions using the oven bag, but seared the roast (as several reviewers suggested) prior to putting into bag. I found it took about 1-1/4 hours for a 2 pound roast. Makes a delicious sauce for the pork. Very easy but impressive for dinner guests.

Banana Oatmeal Cookie

We enjoyed these wonderfully soft cookies. I live at a high altitude and often experience flattened cookies. Not so with these. They were nice and plump. I agree with other reviewers that they only need to be cooked about 10 minutes.

Sweet Potato Casserole II

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
I made this recipe for Thanksgiving, but decided before making it to cut down on the richness. I cut down the white sugar to 1/2 cup, the brown sugar to 3/4 cup, the flour to 1/3 cup and the butter to 1/4 cup. It turned out plenty sweet and rich. My grandchildren loved it and cleaned the dish.

Zesty French Dressing

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2009
I prefer making homemade dressings where I can control the ingredients and not have to be concerned with what type of oil is in it and not have to worry about too much salt. This recipe fits the bill. Tasty and easy.... and like other reviewers have said, much like boughten Catalina Dressing without all the bad stuff.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Yummy! Since I have to watch my salt, I didn't add salt until it was finished cooking. I found that the ham gave it plenty of salt. Also, at the end, I added some frozen peas for color.
