About this Cook
I am in my late twenties, married for 7 years and just recently became interested in cooking. My husband and I live very active lives and don't always have the time to cook. I enjoy being able to surf allrecipes.com and find recipes that taste great and aren't that hard to make for us both to enjoy!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking healthy choices - my husband and I eat a lot of chicken, pasta, and salad but would like to include more vegetables in our dinner choices. I love surfing allrecipes.com for that perfect recipe.
My favorite family cooking traditions
As of yet, I don't really have any family cooking traditions although am looking forward to getting some started!
My cooking triumphs
Cooking triumps ... don't really have any although I have definitely impressed people with the creamy chicken lasagna and the chicken enchiladas from this site. I also have a very good salsa dip and turtle brownie recipe that are always big hits wherever I go.
My cooking tragedies
When I was a teenager, I cooked chocolate chip cookies and it called for half a tsp of salt and I mistakenly put in half a CUP of salt - the cookies were disgusting, tasted like salt and that's it. I think my dad ate a few though. Another time (when I was a teenager), I baked brownies and put in some flour. I noticed that there were some holes going downward in the flour but ignored it. Turns out that they were those little weevils (bugs!). My dad ate them anyway! Chicken Thai Pizza from this site - this was a tragedy!

Turkey-Cheese Macaroni Bake
This recipe was okay at best. My daughter wouldn't eat it (but she's picky as it is) and my husband and I ate it but felt it wasn't all that flavourful. We wouldn't make again.

Thai Chicken Balls
This recipe was excellent although I did make a few mods. I only had chicken breasts (not ground chicken) so I cooked them and put them in my food processor. I only used about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of the cilantro and it wasn't fresh. Instead of the sweet chili sauce I used Thai sauce and it gave it some kick and instead of 1/4 of a cup, I put in close to a 1/2 cup (and you could easily add more). I don't like spicy foods but this definitely gave it some good flavour and for those looking for some heat, just put more in. Overall, a great recipe, husband and I both rate it as a 10/10. Thanks!

Caramelized Baked Chicken
This was a pretty good recipe although it didn't come close to caramelizing, it was just runny (and I did boil the sauce on the stove top even adding corn starch to thicken and broiled it while in the oven). It was just a very runny sauce so I was disappointed - I was hoping for a thicker coating. The taste however was good, the chicken was moist and flavourful. I am not sure whether I'd make again, I think I might try the candied garlic chicken wings to see if I can find a thicker sauce. All in all good recipe but I don't think caramelize is good for the title ... ? Maybe try some of the other reviewers suggestions.
