About this Cook
I'm a Reg.Nurse in a busy ER. I like to make treats for my coworkers to get them through a busy day. I usually like to make them just before going to work so it's hot out of the oven. This way everyone can enjoy them fresh. Therefore I use alot of simple recipes that are quick and delicious.
My favorite things to cook
I am definitely a baker more so then a cook. Desserts are my thing. I also like to make comfort foods ie roasts, stews and slow cooker recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make alot of traditional recipes at Christmas and holidays. I make a beans and brown bread I grew up with in Cape Breton. The house smells awsome when I make this. My Mom was an amazing cook who had a talent for making everything taste superb. I strive to be like her.Recipes I use are easy and well liked by family and friends. I don't believe in spending hours slaving over a meal. The recipes will be full of ingredients you have on hand and easy to prepare.
My cooking triumphs
For others to judge.
My cooking tragedies
I've had a few! but learned from them each time. That's what cooking is all about. You start off trying anything and everything then learn what works for you. Experience in the kitchen both triumphs and tragedies are what makes someone a better cook.

Easy Spicy Roasted Potatoes
awesome potatoes. I substituted a package of onion soup mix for the onions. It turned out with crunchy bits of onions. Even my daughter who does not like onions loved it.

Creme Brulee
5 plus stars!! I skipped the double boiler and just heated in sauce pan instead. It was sooo creamy and delicate along with hard sugary crust. EVERYONE loved it!!

Cabbage Rolls II
5 stars for sure! I made this for my daughters 19th birthday. It was loved by all. As suggested I doubled the sauce which was perfect. I placed in 350 deg oven x 1 hour then took lid off 300 deg x 30 mins. We did not find the pepper was "too spicy".Served with parmesan cheese on the side. It was a hit.
