Sesame Parmesan Zucchini

I'm not sure what went wrong - I used double the zucchini and all the same ingredients the same, but it was so spicy it was nearly inedible (and we like spicy food). Might try it again, minus the cayenne - not sure what happened!

Green Beans with Cherry Tomatoes

Used dried basil, 1 regular tomato, fresh garlic and a dash of salt. Next time I'd cut down the sugar just a bit and maybe add another dash of salt. But, this was GREAT and the kids loved it.

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Made as directed by others, 1 cup white sugar, 1 cup brown, 3.5 cups zucchini. The whole family thought it was amazing. Will definitely make again.

Summer Garden Pasta

Generally a big fan of pasta salads with lots of veggies, but this one didn't work for me! (The photo shows a much higher ratio of veggies to pasta than the recipe as written results in!) Next time I would add half the pasta and even more vegetables. I thought this was relatively low on flavor in general. I brought it to a party and hardly anyone ate it. Nonetheless, it'll make for nice lunches this week!

Very good, as brownies always are -- I used expensive cocoa powder and vanilla. Not sure these were "amazing", but definitely a good brownie!

Sweet-Sour Broccoli Salad

I've tried other versions of this with white wine vinegar instead of cider vinegar and thought the cider vinegar in this was a little strong. It was alot of dressing for the amount of broccoli -- I'd half it next time.

Tomato, Basil, and Feta Salad

My 6 year-old did all the chopping to make this (her favorite salad from the grocery store). We didn't have onions on hand so just skipped it. I didn't have fresh basil, only dried (I halved it) and it was still very good. Great simple recipe.

Alyson's Broccoli Salad

Skipped the onions (didn't have any), used rice wine vinegar instead of white wine vinegar (all I had), and actually made half the "dressing" because I wanted more broccoli and less dressing. It was a hit. As my husband says, "Everything is good with bacon."

Roasted Rosemary Chicken And Vegetables

Healthy, and looks nice. I used expensive balsamic vinegar and maybe the intensity threw it off or something -- it just tasted like all balsamic vinegar and I couldn't appreciate the rosemary. It was a little too spicy for my kids (6 and 9), so I'd probably cut down on the red pepper next time.

Banana Oatmeal Cookies

I didn't have any shortening, so used 1 cup of butter and added a few tablespoons of flour. They were delicious -- not too sweet. My kids thought it basically tasted just like banana bread in the form of a cookie (which for some reason they thought was a bad thing). These were a nice change from just regular oatmeal cookies.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

I had some issues with this, and I'm not quite sure why. Basically, the dough was really sticky, and not very sweet. Adding more flour would have just made it even less sweet. They were really hard to roll out. We ended up just rolling them into balls and flattening them on the pan (which worked fine) -- just didn't work with cookie cutters. I'll try adjusting things a bit next time.

Amish White Bread

I thought this was okay -- but I guess I think my bread machine often ends up with relatively dry bread -- I'm not sure if it is overbaking it by just a few minutes or what the issue is.
