About this Cook
I have been married for 37 years, have 3 children, and 3 dogs.I also have 6 grand-children.My daughter introduced me to allrecipes and I love getting on my laptop and looking for new recipes. My daughter will challenge me with cooking competitions. We try to outdo each other with new recipes. Even though I have been cooking for over 37 years, I still consider myself intermediate because I am always learning something new.
My favorite things to cook
I will cook just about anything, but I really enjoy baking. My mother used to work in a bakery and always baked when I was little, and I guess she passed her love for baking down to me. Thanks Mom.
My cooking triumphs
My biggest cooking triumph was when I finally made my first loaf of homemade bread. I always had trouble making bread from scratch, but now I can make it like the pros.
My cooking tragedies
The worst tragedy I had was when I was first married and tried to cook a turkey for Thanksgiving. I didn't realize that they put a little bag of goodies inside, so they baked inside the turkey. What a surprise to me when I pulled that out.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I
Sorry, not for me. It cooked to long and I didn't like the flavor of the bay leaf in it.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread
This is by far the best corn bread I have ever had. My mother would make different recipes when I was little and I have tried different recipes also, but this is the best.

Apple Dumplings I
Compared to the complete homemade from scratch ones I have made in the past these are ok in a pinch but I thought just ok.They do get a little soggy on the bottom.
