Strawberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I made this for my husbands birthday house party. Everyone thought it was store bought and wanted to know where I got it. When I told them I made it they all wanted the recipe and now want me to bring it to family gatherings. This makes you look like a FINE cook!! If I could give it 10 stars I would. The only change I made was 2 pkgs of cream cheese instead of 3. First cheesecake I've ever made and truly divine!

Curried Honey Mustard Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2009
I followed the popular reviews and halved the butter, doubled the curry, and next time I will also add cayenne because i thought it was very sweet without any spice. Of course the spiciness also depends on the curry you use. Mine was mild and we love spicy food. Easy to make and a great staple for dinners. Most people have these items on hand too so thats a plus! I served with mixed veggies and wild rice.

Easy Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
I added cooked rice (1 cup dry) to make this a full meal with a veggie dish side. Skip all the oil...just enough to coat pan. Add can of chicken broth. When the chicken was done I added the rice and let it simmer for a couple minutes. I also bought Naan bread from the grocery store, toasted and buttered it and it was great dipped in the curry. I did not have any onions but it was still really good. I keep curry on hand from an authentic Indian market because they sell it by the bag instead of the little containers from grocery store. Easy and quick too!

Four-Berry Smoothies

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
Tasty and simple recipe. I substituted lemon juice for concentrate. And I had the Costco berry mix that excludes strawberries so I just added 2 cups of that. Splenda instead of sugar. Will add flax seed once I buy some.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2009
This was my first homeade bread and it turned out great! I only had 3 bananas so I added spices (cinnamon & pumpkin pie) to compensate for lost taste. Next time I will do as other suggested and stir only until moist. And I may have to make it healthier if I want to have this every Sunday morning as I'm planning!

Easy Pancakes

Reviewed: Mar. 3, 2009
My new favorite pancake recipe. 5 for the flavor, 4 because they aren't fluffy which keeps them from perfection. But I used 2 teaspoons of baking soda and 2 Tablespoons of butter instead of vegetable oil. I LOVE these.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
I made these twice this weekend. I don't have a sifter so they came out flat, but still tastes good. I will be buying a sifter now so they can come out fluffy! I also added chocolate chips to one batch, and bananas to another. Great recipe.

Grilled Cheese Sandwich

This is exactly how I make my grilled cheese sandwiches. Add a slice or two of deli lunch meat if you want more than cheese.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

Delicious! I made this with chicken quarters and loved it. I'll add the sauce recipe to my recipe book for other types of meat and veggies.

Snickerdoodle Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
I really enjoy this cake with black coffee in the morning. Yum! I didn't have shortening so I used vegetable oil which means it probably wasn't as fluffy as it should have been. But it was incredibly moist which is how I like cake. I doubled the cinnamon/sugar dry mix and used half on top with a couple tablespoons of melted butter. I may try it with less sugar on the inside next time, it was really sweet. All in all, I made this as a result of a sweet pregnancy craving and it did the job! I would make this again.

Caramelized Onions

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2005
I don't eat meat other than fish so I didn't add the bacon. I wasn't too fond of the strong molasses taste but once I added some sugar, it was great on top of salmon! :) I would make again.

Green Beans with Bread Crumbs

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2005
Quick & easy...nice change instead of plain green beans. I didn't have parmesan and I had PLAIN bread crumbs instead of italian (made this at last minute) but I added italian seasoning. I also added garlic salt because it tasted sort of bland. I'm sure it'll taste even better when I make it again with the parmesan.

Lemon Garlic Salmon

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2005
Yummm!!! I read the review that said to marinate the salmon in cooking wine. But I wanted my salmon asap so I just added 2 Tablespoons of white cooking wine into the fry. It was great! Also added the carmalized onions, which topped it nicely. Will definitely make for family and friends!
