About this Cook
I guess you can say I just love to cook. Since I can remember, I have always helped out in the kitchen. Being from a big family, family gatherings have always centered around great food.
My favorite things to cook
I really don't have a favorite thing I like to cook, but I do have several recipes I will make when I want to impress.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My Grandmother Maria's Pierogi
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumph would have to be the time I made Coq au Vin for my friend Frederique. Being from France and a really picky eater to boot, she thought it was great and tasted like the authentic French classic dish.
My cooking tragedies
Sometimes the simplest, tried 'n true recipes shouldn't be messed with. I once tried to make a fancy gourmet meatloaf recipe for my ex-boyfriend. Not only was it a new recipe, but I also thought I would be even more creative and add a few extra things... Ut-oh! The results where a mushy on the inside, bland, and burnt on the outside lump of "stuff" we couldn't eat! lol

Spiced Sweet Roasted Red Pepper Hummus
Awesome hummus recipe! I did cut the cayenne pepper to 1/4 teaspoon as suggested by some of the other reviewers, and I used roasted red peppers that were marinated in olive oil and garlic - which turned out great to me. Definitely a keeper!

Anniversary Chicken I
I made this recipe last weekend and it's definitely a keeper. I marinated the chicken breasts in the teriyaki sauce, as suggested by other reviewers. The chicken was very moist and the combination of flavors was different, but very good! Highly recommended!

Goulash Supreme
Very yummy, simple Goulash recipe...exactly what I was looking for. You'll probably most definitely want to cook the macaroni separately and add to the meat mixture towards the end. I used diced tomatoes instead of stewed, and I added more garlic (2 large cloves). I did use the tomato paste since I like the tomato taste. Some of my additions: 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika in addition to the regular paprika; 3-4 dashes of Worcestershire sauce; 2 teaspoons of sugar (to cut down on the acidity), and salt & pepper to taste.
