I'm a senior citizen who is disabled by an error during spine surgery. I can't stand and cook as well as I used to, but I still try. I am Grandmother to a wonderful young lady. I also do a lot of crafts. And this computer is my major link with the outside world.
My favorite things to cook
My favorites are desserts. I especially like decorating cakes and pride myself in my decorating expertise.I also like to cook One Pot and slow cooker dinners. (Again, I can't stand up at a stove very long)
My favorite family cooking traditions
After being left with the cooking secrets of my mother's, grandmother's, etc., it has been great to pass them down to my youngest son, who is a wonderful cook! The gathering together on holidays is now in his hands.
My cooking triumphs
Being asked to decorate the cakes for all occasions at the hospital where I was a Nurse.
My cooking tragedies
I had two that have stuck out in my mind for over 40 years: 1)The first cake I made in a tube pan for my new husband stuck to the pan and fell apart into a half-dozen pieces (I cried) 2)The first turkey I cooked for my new husband and my sister and brother-in-law, I left the giblets in the neck cavity. (I was so embarassed)
