I am pretty much into meat and potatoes down home style cooking--really hearty stuff. Definitely big family holiday dinners!! With the exception of my father's paternal line that is English all the way back, I am an Eastern European Heinz 57 and my daily cooking is very Eastern European homestyle--cabbage and noodles, stuffed peppers, pirogies, noodle pudding, pastries, cheesecake and a lot of hearty meat and potato-type dishes. One day I will master making a "Dobos Torte", a Hungarian specialty cake with many layers. I am also going to try to make Greek Baklava because the junk you get in the stores is made with vegetable oil instead of butter and corn syrup instead of honey!!! I'm sure I've burned a few things and forgotten a few ingredients here and there but I can't really remember anything memorable.
