Yeast Pancakes

Great pancakes! Didn't taste yeasty at all; reminded me of the pancakes at a famous breakfast place in the area. I added cranberries one time, choc chips another time. Def try this recipe.

Fudgy Chocolate Cream Pie

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2008
This pie is super! The only modification I made was to add 2 T of strong coffee to the cream to bring out more chocolate flavor. I brought it to a Christmas Eve party; and it was the first to go...a big hit, especially with homemade whipped cream! It is super-fudgy, and not a typical "pudding pie". I was worried that it might not be enough filling for the pie, based on past reviews, but it seemed PLENTY thick enough, especially considering how rich it is...and if you know you're topping it with whipped cream/meringue, obviously you need to leave room/have a good ratio of filling/topping.

Perfect. :) I'm not sure about freezing these...they don't seem to come out exactly the same... Definitely double the icing. GREAT RECIPE!

Great! I left out the olive oil, but kept everything spot-on! Doesn't take a long time to reduce this, keep an eye on it!

Pizza Dough III

GREAT recipe to work with, easy to roll out! Mods: 1/2 c more flour, 1/2 t of garlic powder, dash of basil and italian seasoning. I also added the sugar to the yeast/water instead of in the dry ingredients. Rolled it out very thin, added toppings and baked at 425 for a thin/crispy crust. Awesome recipe!

Great! I used ranch dressing instead, and didn't need the whole amount. Just sauce to taste. I also topped with onions; delish!

Carrot Cake III

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2008
Awesome cake! Per other reviewers, I made the following modifications: 1 c each brown and white sugar, added 1 extra t of cinammon and 1 t vanilla, and added 1/2 t of nutmeg, 1/4 t cloves, and 8 oz crushed pineapple, drained. I also reduced oil to 3/4 c and added 1/2 c applesauce. I mistakenly added an extra cup of carrots, but love it this way as well. :) The frosting only needed 3 1/2 c of conf sugar, and one reviewer made an excellent modification of adding 2 T lime juice to the frosting to bring out the sweetness. Fab job!

AWESOME cookie! I bought the swirl chips (pb and choc) and instead of chopping up a reeses, pressed a mini-reeses in the middle of each hot cookie! These FLEW off the plates at a Christmas party; everyone talks about this one a week later! :)

Saltine Toffee Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2007
GREAT AND EASY! I did use the tips of other reviewers by using greased disposable pans. To those with a candy thermometer, the sugar mixture should be at the "soft-ball stage" or 230 degrees. Make sure you start timing the three minutes at a full rolling boil, not before. :) Other than than, perfection! :)

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2007
AWESOME! I used 8 Granny Smith apples, approx 4 1/2 pounds. I also followed the advice of other reviewers: I stirred the sugar mixture in the apples and let sit for approximately 1/2 an hour. I also doubled the crisp recipe and lay some (about a 1/3 of mixture) on the bottom and the rest on the top. Additions: 2 T. of lemon juice and 2T. of vanilla, 1/2 t nutmeg, and decreased water to 1/4c. I increased baking time to an hour, as I like the top to have a bit more crunch. Great recipe!

Banana Banana Bread

Wow. Unbelievable. I tend to like it sweeter, so I took the suggestions of other reviewers by making the following revisions: upped the brown sugar to 1 cup Added: 1/2 t cinammon 1/4 t nutmeg 1 t vanilla Streusel topping: 1/4 c brown sugar, 1/4 t cinammon, 1 T butter Also, I mashed 2 c of bananas and chopped up 1/2 c of bananas for extra texture. LOOKS fabulous too! Good luck to all, and thanks to the OP for this great tasty recipe!
