YUM!! I didn't have buttermilk, so I made my own with 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and enough milk to make 1 cup total "buttermilk". (Let it sit for at least 5 minutes before using.) Just use 3/4 cup of it like the recipe calls for. I also used butter flavored Crisco in place of the shortening. It gave it an extra buttery taste.
