Strawberry/Rhubarb Crumb Pie
Perfect recipe. Everyone in my family loved this pie, even my father-in-law who usually prefers more tart/natural-tasting desserts. Just the right blend of sweet and tart. Strawberry rhubarb pie is a wet pie. The filling spills out and that's okay. It's only grocery store pies, loaded with goodness knows what, that stay in perfect pieces when they are sliced.

My Grandma's Shoo-Fly Pie
I made this recipe according to the instuctions, but adding some of the crumb (maybe 1/4) to the filling in layers. It looked amazing and according to my brother-in-law from Pittston, PA, it is exactly right. I used a deep pie dish. It was perfect. I wish I'd taken a picture. Thank you for sharing.

Treacle Scones
These taste very good and are simple to make. They are almost bread-like, the dough comes out quite soft and a bit elastic. I used granulated sugar because I hadn't any superfine and I didn't know what mixed spice was, so I used pumpkin pie spice. I also put raw sugar on the top before baking. They are good plain, with butter, and with apple butter. I will make these again. They will travel very well.
