Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
Oh my gosh! This was so good!! My husband said that it tasted like "restaurant quality" barbecue. I made a few changes for what I had on hand. I only used 4 chicken breast halves that were fresh that I cooked on low for about 5 hours. I then shredded and put back in to cook for about an hour more. I used Jack Daniel's original recipe and it was delicious! I also threw in some chopped onion and some molasses. I served with corn on the cob. This will be a regular in my house!

Taco Seasoning I

This is excellent. It's nice because you can control all the ingredients, spice, and the amount of salt! The best taco seasoning recipe I have tried!

Creamy Rice Pudding

Reviewed: May 19, 2009
I don't want to give this recipe a bad review because everyone clearly loves it but I didn't like it. Did I cook it too long waiting for it to get thick and creamy? It seems like too much rice and not enough pudding. It didn't taste right at all.

Blueberry Waffles with Fast Blueberry Sauce

Reviewed: May 15, 2009
I didn't make the waffles, just the sauce. The sauce was excellent. I used cran-grape juice though because that was all I had and I used a blackberry/blueberry mixture because that was what I had also. I like how this doesn't use refined sugar but still tastes great!

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
Wow, this was great! My husband said this is one of his favorite dishes that I have made. I love it when recipes are simple and he says that! I used the "rooster" hot sauce like other users suggested. It was too hot for me so I may cut it down a little next time. My husband added more though after I served it so it's really a matter of personal taste. I also dredged the chicken in flour before cooking like others suggested and I sauteed some onions as well. We loved it!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
I omitted the green onions and pickled ginger because I didn't have any and I doubled the sauce. They were excellent! Even my husband who scoffed at the idea of having lettuce wraps for dinner loved them.

Zucchini Patties

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
I have made this recipe before and I really like it but I make it a little different. I use garlic instead of onion and I also use a small amount of Italian breadcrumbs. You have to squeeze the zucchini to get out the excess water so it will fry nicely. I serve this with spicy ranch or tomato sauce!

I have made this a few times before for family and coworkers and everyone loves it. It is SO easy to whip up! I will sometimes make extra frosting and frost the entire cake. I have also seen people put blueberries on top of this cake along with the strawberries. This would be a great 4th of July cake.

Salsa Chicken Burrito Filling

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
This was really good and I thought it was even better the next day. I used McCormick's Burrito seasoning and it was great. I also found a small can of salsa in the Mexican aisle that was just the right size for this recipe and a small can of Mexican hot tomato sauce. It turned out pretty spicy which we like. EDIT: I tried something different this time and it came out even better. I sauteed some onions and garlic before the tomato sauce and I used the taco seasoning from the website so I could control the amount of salt used. I also broke up the chicken sooner because it was too tough last time (maybe I was cooking too high). It came out perfect this time. I added some shredded cheese and served with sour cream and refried beans. This recipe is going in my regular rotation.

Pasta e Fagioli a la Chez Ivano

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
Wow, this was really delicious. I made it exactly as the recipe calls for except I halved the recipe because it is just the two of us and I shortened the cooking time a little on the beans because I didn't want the pasta to get soggy. I will definitely be making this again! Oh, and I love garlic. I frequently add more garlic than recipes call for. It is my favorite thing in cooking however even I thought that the recipe calls for a lot of garlic. I added the suggested amount anyway and it really isn't overbearing--it's great. So don't be afraid of adding all that garlic.

Easy Tuna Casserole

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2008
I'm not a huge fan of tuna casseroles but this was good! My boyfriend really like it also. He ended up getting thirds. This is simplicity at its finest because most people probably already have all the ingredients in their pantry. This is also a great dinner if you're pressed for time or on a budget. I made a mistake by adding the cheese in with the noodles and milk after I boiled the noodles they were hot and melted the cheese. I realized, after a mixed the ingredients, that I was supposed to put the cheese on top. It was a good mistake though because my casserole came out nice and creamy. The only other changes I made besides the cheese mistake was added a little bit of milk and pepper to taste. I also added some extra cheese on top! Very good!

Stuffed Green Peppers I

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
I only gave it four stars because I modified the recipe a bit I guess. I modify a lot of the recipes to our liking and add things that I think we would like. I used some of the other recommendations. I cooked the rice separately with chicken broth and onions. I sauteed onions, garlic, and minced mushrooms and added them to the cooked beef. I also used spicy spaghetti sauce in place of the tomato soup and mixed that into the beef mixture and also put some on top of the peppers. I loved the cheese mixed throughout the peppers. I cut my peppers in half lengthwise. I had never done that before and I really liked the way they came out. I also used half green and half red peppers. The reds are really delicious! The next time I make these I am going to boil them for a little longer maybe because they were still a bit crunchy.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Nov. 2, 2008
Pretty good recipe... I had to cook mine longer than 45 minutes. The pork came out very tender. I mixed one cup of Merlot with one cup of beef broth and used one packet of gravy with the wine mixture, but I thought it was too salty. Next time I will try making my own homemade gravy maybe with some sauteed mushrooms. I omitted the celery and instead of adding the onions to the pork I slow cooked the onions on the stove for 45 minutes until they carmelized and served them on top of a side of mashed potatoes.

Mouse's Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Oct. 30, 2008
Oh my gosh I loved this recipe! I will definitely be making this one again. It was so creamy and so cheesy. I couldn't find cubed American so I used colby-jack, I used two cups of macaroni instead of 1.5, pepper to taste, and in case there wasn't enough fat I mixed the breadcrumbs with some butter before putting them on top. I can't say enough about how much I liked this. I have been looking for a mac and cheese recipe like this. Thanks, Mouse!

Uncooked Banana Pudding

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
Good, but I don't think I will be making again. I didn't think the pudding mixture tasted much like pudding which is what I like best about banana pudding. I agree with other reviewers that it tastes similar to cake batter. Now cake batter is yummy but I wanted banana pudding! I think the cool whip, pudding mixture would probably taste yummy on top in a smaller quantity.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
This cake was delicious. I used a bundt pan to cook this cake. I had to cook it a little longer than the directions gave. The cake was so moist and kept great. I will definitely be making this again. I put a chocolate glaze on top of mine. I might just try powdered sugar or a powdered sugar glaze next time.

Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2008
These were great and were devoured in no time by my boyfriend. I won't stir the batter so much next time because I think the texture would have been better. These would also taste great without the chocolate or you could substitute cranberries or whatever you like.
