About this Cook
Well what can I say...? I do enjoy cooking but I will admit, I've had my fair share of bad decisions in the kitchen!
My favorite things to cook
I love baking desserts such as cake, cookies, cupcakes, muffins and such.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Indian curries.
My cooking triumphs
My husband has complimented on a few of my dishes, claiming it tastes either storebought or better than storebought. I think I am fairly good at cooking steak, chocolate chip cookies, apple pie and indian curries which were passed down from my mother.
My cooking tragedies
Well I grew up seeing my sister bake desserts, and I followed in her footsteps by doing the same. However, when I first started (I must have been 12/13 at the time.) I burned a lot of my treats! I would set my timer for when I have to take the treat out of the oven, and go sit in the living room and watching TV, completely forgetting there was something in the oven. It was a tough learning experience, I cried myself out of the kitchen numerous times.

Chocolate Oil Cake
This is the only recipe I've found that tasted almost as moist and delicious as the Betty Crocker cake mix. However, I made some alterations. Instead of water, I used 2 cups brewed (decaffinated) coffee, and I brought the sugar down to 1 1/2 cups instead of 2. Very delicious recipe. A perfect 5 out of 5!

Mocha Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins
I altered the recipe like so many reviews said to do: I used 1 cup applesauce instead of margarine, 3/4 cups of sugar, 1/2 cup of chocolate chips, and I don't buy instant coffee so I brewed 1 cup of coffee and put it all in the muffins. Since the muffins were so watery (due to the coffee) I increased the flour to 2 1/2 cups (half whole wheat and half white flour.) The muffins were delicious but since I used brewed coffee, I couldn't taste the coffee, also, the muffins came out too soft. But to be fair, that wasn't the recipe's fault, it was just my error in judgment. I will definitely make them again, but next time with instant coffee. Great recipe! The muffins were delicious!
