About this Cook
I cook very sporadically. But when I do cook, a well-balanced menu with color, texture and flavor is what I strive for.
My cooking tragedies
Trying to cook a spaghetti dinner for about 20 famished skiers at 1,000 mi. elevation and that pasta just wouldn't boil!!!!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan
Phoebe, you genius! The sophisticated flavor of this dish belies how simple it is to make. Many, many dinner guests have been so impressed. It's my go-to main dish when I entertain after working an 8-hour day. I serve it with rice pilaf and parboiled green beans sauted with toasted almonds.

Cheddar Bacon Hamburgers
The horseradish flavor stood out too much. I had no problem with the patty keeping its form, because I used all fresh cheeses. Just okay.

Cheese Stuffed Mushroom Appetizer
The store didn't have Neufchatel so I used tub Philadelphia cream cheese instead. I made it for company, but my husband and I ended up eating most of it - with guilty pleasure. It may have been too high fat for my health-conscious guests. I'd love to make this again, but with less fat calories?
