About this Cook
I'm 28 years old and I love to cook, knit and exercise. I have a wonderful husband, a beautiful 5 year old daughter and 1 year old son! During the day, I work as a special education lead teacher for a large urban school system.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make Mrs. Sigg's snickerdoodle cookies, Husband's delight, Tofu creamed spinach and anniversary chicken! I enjoy making soups and chowders and I like to experiment with sauces.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Frying the turkey for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner!
My cooking triumphs
I'm still waiting for one...
My cooking tragedies
I'm proud to admit that there have been a lot of cooking flops, but not a lot of tragedies, per se....the one that sticks out the most was my first attempt at cheese cake...

Cheesecake Cookie Cups
Pretty good recipe - they weren't as pretty as I would have liked but I'm sure that's my fault and not the recipe. I'll try them again sometime.

Broccoli, Rice, Cheese, and Chicken Casserole
I reduced the water to 1 and a half cups and still found the recipe to be quite soupy at first. I'd likely decrease the milk by half next time I make it. The taste was fantastic and my family enjoyed it. I took it as leftovers for lunch the following day and thought it tasted better than the night before - primarily b/c it was no longer soupy? Perhaps I'll allow it to sit a bit longer before serving it next time. All in all, a good recipe that I'll make again.
