Smothered Green Beans

YUM! This was great. I like others, cooked my bacon and onion, removed it and tossed at the very end. I also substituted broth for the water. I plan on making this for thanksgiving!

my fav meatloaf recipe thus far! So good and makes for a nice presentation. Only change i made was to substitute ketchup for the tomato sauce.

Lemon Cream Pasta with Chicken

Despite all the rave reviews, i found this to be boring. Thats not to say that this was bad because we finished it but it definitely wasnt creamy enough and was lacking some kind of veggie. I followed the recipe exactly. Average at best.

Honey Bun Cake I

Very good. More like a cinnamon strusel cake than a honey bun but im not complaining :) Why it would call for an ungreased pan-im not sure. iIt stuck a lil. Next time i will spray my pan.

Cauliflower Casserole

This was okay. i think it has potential but made as written, it was a lil off. The bread crumb topping is very pastey and is not sprinkle-able. once it baked it stayed clumpy. I think the butter should be drizzled on the cauliflower, instead of mixed into the bread crumbs. i will make this again but play with it a lil.

Zucchini Cornbread Casserole

surprised at all the rave reviews. This was edible but nothing i would make again. Didnt like the texture at all. perhaps it would have been better if i squeezed some of the liquid out of the zucchini but because it didnt call for any liquid in the batter, i didnt . I found the casserole to be a lil to wet and a lil on the bland side.wont be making again.

Almost No Fat Banana Bread

For being almost non fat this is pretty good! yes a wee bit rubbery HOWEVER I will take a wee bit rubber over full of fat anyday. The taste is just as good as the reg. banana bread. Will definitely be making this one all the time!

Szechwan Shrimp

Im rating this based on the flavor of the sauce. It needed to be doctored up a bit. The flavor was just off for me. Tasted to tomato sauce like and nothing like szechwan. Overall it was okay but nothing i would make again. It desperately needs veggies of some sort. it would be boring with just the shrimp.

Favorite Old Fashioned Gingerbread

Loved this. Delicious, moist and easy to make. Will be making this again soon. 1 hr baking time is to long. Mine was done in 40 mins. (good thing i checked on it!) it would have been overbaked and dry if i kept it in there for the entire 1 hr. Will be making this again soon :)

Overnight Blueberry French Toast

Just good- not great. Let it sit for about 4 hrs. and not overnight. The sauce was to sweet. It could be reduced by half. Not sure if i would make this again but if i did, i would add spices to the egg mixture to give it more flavor. Overall- 3.5 stars.

German Chocolate Bars

These were just ok. Tasted like an undercooked, flat, gooey, ultra rich brownie. I only used 1/2cup of choc. chips and they were still VERY sweet. I wont be making these again and thats not to say these were bad because they werent. i can see how someone with a sweet tooth would like these. Just not for us.

Sweet and Spicy Pork and Napa Cabbage Stir-Fry with Spicy Noodles

Not bad. Flavor was good but i could taste/feel the oil on my lips while eating this. Next time i think i will reduce the oil or elimnate it all together. I used fresh canton noodles to keep it more authentic.

Baked Egg Rolls

These were soo good. The only thing i did different was used ground chicken instead of reg. cooked chicken. Ground meat of any kind seems more authentic to me. Other than that follwed the recipe exactly. I will make these again soon! Served with sweet chili sauce- yum!
