About this Cook
I am married and have two small children. I am also a stay at home mom, so I need quick, easy and cheap meals to serve to them but so delicious they think I slaved over the stove all day!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. Cookies and Apple Crisp are my favorite things to bake, especially in the fall when it's cool enough to turn on the oven!
My cooking triumphs
I have mastered my apple crisp recipe after tweeking it a bit for a couple of years. The secret is in the CRISP!
My cooking tragedies
I made fudge one year for Christmas. I believe it was my first time to make it. Well somehow I left a burner on and had put my dish of fudge on it. I realized it and turned it off. The temperature change must have effected the glass, because as I was talking on the phone a few minutes later, BAM!the fudge dish burst into a million little glass pieces. My friend on the phone was dying laughing from the scream I made and the explanation later!

Shrimp and Gravy
This was a good recipe, probably not a family staple, but something new and interesting to eat. I didn't have beef bouillon, so I added a little chicken bouillon instead. I also doubled the amount of flour, water and evaporated milk. It was just right, any less would have been skimpy. We had rice and biscuits with it, as I didn't know which would be better. I think the biscuits were my favorite. My son loved it and wants it for breakfast tomorrow.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips
This was a great and healthy snack. I used Apricot preserves and the flavor was wonderful. My whole family loves this dessert.

Acorn Squash
Very good! I used a cinnamon sugar mixture after making another recipe for dessert as well as the brown sugar. It was so good. My 5 year old gobbled it up. We wish we would have put more of the sweet mixture on top, even though that makes it a little less healthy. Will make this often.
