About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I love the taste of ginger, fresh and minced. I try to throw it in everything. Asian style slaw and peanut noodles are two of my favorite gingery things.
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 13 I tried to make a cream sauce to put on fish. Lets just say that milk burned in a pan can change your life. I think that's what made me lactose intolerant!

Blue Cheese Broccoli Salad
This was kind of less good than I expected. I don't know what I thought would happen when I dumped blue cheese dressing over broccoli and tomatoes, magic I guess. Instead I had broccoli and tomatoes with blue cheese dressing. Nobody really said anything at the table, which is usually a bad thing.

Mussels (Not from Brussels, but Belgian Anyway)
Good Stuff! I cut the recipe in half because eight pounds of mussels seemed like a lot. The 4 of us were so enamored with these mussels that I wish I had gotten the extra four pounds to make the next day! Good and simple, but you feel like you're cooking dinner in someones seaside villa!

Reuben Spread
Gets high marks for being easy, tasty and transportable. I bring this to work and parties every chance I'm given and people are always screaming for the recipe. They're always bowled over to learn its only 4 of them and you just chop, mush and bake! Excellent!
