About this Cook
I live in Washington with my husband, our 16 month old, and we have a little boy on the way, due in Aug. of 2009.
My favorite things to cook
I love to make soups, stews and baked dishes. I cook all of our meals, and enjoy making new things that my family will love.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making popcorn on the stove top with my mom, or polenta on the weekends. We have made so many cookies, mashed potatoes and tacos, I can't remember ever not making them!
My cooking triumphs
Perfecting brownies. I used to make them from stratch every friday for the football team, so I got alot of practice on making them perfect!
My cooking tragedies
I can't grill to save my soul. I either undercook it all, or burn the day lights out of it. My husband mans the grill, so dinner isn't chared.

Pepperoni Pizza Muffins
these are very quick and easy to make, but they just aren't very good. They turn out a funky orange color, and are far too moist (all the fat in the cheese and pep doens't help). They aren't horrible, but I wouldn't make them again. Glad I was just trying to use up ingredients!

Cream Cheese Frosting II
Great recipe for ultra cream-cheesy frosting. I cut the recipe in half and found that just 1 cup of sugar worked perfectly. I did add a splash of lemon juice however, and that just makes it perfect! I don't care for frosting in general, but this was a hit. I used it on a cinnamon swirl cake, just the right amount. I had no trouble with it being to thick or to thin, just right!

Ramen Cabbage Salad
Made this last night, it was great. I didn't have any cabbage, so I thinly sliced 3 romaine hearts and mixed with half a bag of mixed salad greens. The dressing is perfect, esp if you add a touch of seasame seed oil. I also added mandarin organges and seasame seeds to the salad. Great with grilled teriyaki chicken.
