About this Cook
Cooking is one of my favorite hobbies. It's something that I like to do to relax...nothing clears my head like baking a fresh batch of sugar cookies.
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake; my favorite thing to make is cookies. I most enjoy baking, probably because it is easiest to be creative artistically with cookies and cakes! I also enjoy cooking meals for my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandma makes the best chicken soup, and taught me how to as well.
My cooking triumphs
Bread from scratch, and learning to make perfect tostones.
My cooking tragedies
Once, I thought I would keep the pancakes I made for my family and our guests warm by putting them in the oven at a low temperature. Well, I think they were in there a little too long, because they came out like frizbees!

Japanese Peanut Salad Dressing
I brought this dressing to a party and everyone asked for the recipe. Definitely a crowd pleaser. I used half the amount of sugar and substituted half the amount of peanuts for peanut butter. Will use again!

Gourmet Chicken Sandwich
This sandwich was great! Not overpowering and very filling. I served my chicken cold, and used the recipe for "bread machine focaccia".

Spinach Caprese Salad
This salad was delicious. Just as a Caprese salad should be. I have made this a few times and find that using balsamic glaze instead of vinegar will take the bite off the dressing. It is much sweeter so it changes the taste of the salad, but it has a more rounded and mellow flavor.
