Cake Batter Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
This ice cream is SO yummy! It was the perfect creaminess! Not too thick! I thought the cake batter taste wasn't too strong, you could maybe add a litte more, but I thought it was good as it. The only difference I did was use vanilla bean paste in place of the vanilla extract. I do that with all my homemade ice cream. This recipe is for sure a keeper that I will make again and again!

Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
I love that this recipe makes its own gravy! Instead of water I use beef broth and I did 1 can cream of mushroom and 1 can cream of celery. I don't like mushrooms, but this is pretty tasty!

Chocolate Banana Bread

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
These are SO good!! I did make some changes due to ingredients I had on hand. I used butter, b/c I never use margarine. I did 1 cup white sugar and 1 cup brown sugar. I did a heaping 1/4 cup of cocoa powder. I did half sour cream and half FF vanilla yogurt b/c that's all I had. I also added 1 tsp cinnamon and 1 tsp salt. I also added 1 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips. I baked these in a mini muffin tin for 13 mins. I used my little cookie scoop to fill muffin tins. They are SO yummy! I will be making this often!

Chicken with Green Peppers in Black Bean Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2008
This tastes just like the one I had in England! So YUMMY! I didn't add the salt. I added water chestnuts, pea pods, and zucchini. I added most of the corn starch mix, but I did it a little at a time. I will be making this again VERY soon!

Peppermint Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2007
I'm giving this 4 stars because I used this recipe as a base... I did a layer of dark chocolate. When I pounded my candy canes, some of the candy cane became a fine powder. So I sifted that out from the chunks and sprinkled it on the dark choco layer. Then I put it in the freezer while I melted the white choco. Once that melted I added 1/8 tsp of peppermint extrace then poured the white choco over the dark choco and then sprinkled the candy cane chunks. I froze it again for a couple hours. I melted the choco in my double boiler. SO YUMMY!!!

Rich Chocolate Frosting

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
This frosting has a good flavor but I didn't like the consistency. I was looking for a fudgy frosting and this one is more of a whipped frosting. I think I'll keep looking...

Four Egg Yellow Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2007
I thought this cake was okay. I couldn't find the recipe for my buttermilk cake so I tried this one. This cake wasn't as heavy was I wanted. It kind of reminded me of a box mix. I might try it again using buttermilk to see if that would change the consistency. Overall... I didn't like it very much...

Belgian Waffles

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2007
My first attempt at making homemade Belgian Waffles... it was a success!! I made them the night before and just put the batter in the fridge. I doubled it and got 11 waffles using my belgian waffle maker. The only thing different I did was add 1 tsp of sugar to the yeast. I served this with the Easy Whipped Cream recipe from this site. These were very yummy!!

Chocolate Waffles I

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2007
I will rate this a four because I made changes... but with my changes I would rate it a 5!! The changes I made were 2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, 1 tsp vanilla and half a bag of chocolate chips. So yummy! I made this in my belgian waffle maker and they turned our wonderful! I served this with Easy Whipped Cream from this site. I made the leftovers and froze them. I think I will try them for dessert with ice cream next!

Easy Whipped Cream

This was excellent! I did as other viewers suggested, I increased the cream to 3/4 cup and deceased the sour cream to 1/4 cup. So yummy! I served this with the Belgian Waffles and the Chocolate Waffles I from this site. This recipe is a keeper!! I will never use cool whip again!

I made these for my sister in laws baby shower. Everybody loved them! They were SO easy to make! Instead of onions, I used onion powder to taste and I got Sun dried tomatoe turkey from the deli counter! Very yummy!!!

Key Lime Pie VIII

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
I do not like lime or lemon anything... but this! I love this pie!!! It was just a little tart... but still great! I used bottled key lime juice and a graham cracker crust. I just need to figure out how to make it a little sweeter, but I will continue making this pie! Very good!!!

Little Meat Loaves

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
I love this recipe!! I can't remember ever having meat loaf before... but my husband requested it one night. This has SO much flavor! I do put in Italian seasoned breadcrumbs instead of the ritz crackers. And do 1/3 cup brown sugar. When I bake this I put it on a cooling rack on a jelly roll pan, just so the meat loaf isn't sitting in grease. A reviewer said they use this recipe for hamburger patties... I think I'll try that next!!

Amazing Italian Lemon Butter Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
This was okay... I probably would have loved this if I put all the butter in... but I didn't want to put in 1 cup of butter when one TBS is 100 calories... So I probably won't make this again.

Italian Easter Cookies

I thought these cookies were pretty good. I think next time I will just roll them out and use cookie cutters. This way was too much fuss. These were very good with homemade raspberry ice cream!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Squares

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2007
I thought these were okay. I don't think they are comparable to Reese's PBC. I tried making these in foil cupcake liners... they turned out too thick. I'll try making them again...but a different way...

Cinnamon Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
This ice cream is SO smooth and creamy!! I serve this with the Apple Crisp II. Insead of using vanilla flavoring, I use a Vanilla Bean paste that I got at William Sanoma. This recipe is a great base! I've also made raspberry ice cream! Just don't put in the cinnamon! Very yummy! This is a keeper! Also, I used an electric mixer to beat in the eggs so they wouldn't scramble.

Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
I'm not a fan of cooked apple anything... until I made this!!! I love this! I like how the apples are a little crunchy, not soggy. When I make this I don't add a bottom crust. I use all of the crumble for the top! I love a thick layer! I also make this recipe in a 8x8. When I make it in a 9x13 I double the recipe. I serve this with homemade Cinnamon Ice Cream!! Yummy!!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2007
I love this recipe!! I've been making it for awhile now. The only thing different I do is that I cut the peanut butter cups in half and press them on top of the cookie once I've put the dough on the cookie sheet. I love to bite into the peanut butter cup!! So if you do it this way, you'll need more peanut butter cups!! This is my favorite cookie!!!
