About this Cook
I'm a MomMom to twin 4 year old girls, and step MomMom to a 3 yr old boy. I love them to death and love to make things they'd like. Mostly that would be COOKIES. Alyssa will eat anything, Paige will eat whatever her Daddy eats, and Kaleb will only eat pizza and chicken, so we tell him everything is chicken.
My favorite things to cook
Chicken, fish, pot roast with veggies, and comfort foods like PotPie ( the PA Dutch type: big egg noodles and meat & potatoes!) I love to bake cakes and cookies too. I'll try anything if it's not too complicated.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My parents are atypical: Dad's the cook, Mom's the cleaner-upper. My father is an excellent cook. We love his Meat Pie, Pot Pie, BBQ Ribs, and Thanksgiving turkey with PopPop's World Famous Stuffing is a BIG family tradition. He is also famous for his Strawberry Pie and Lemon Ice Cream.
My cooking triumphs
Can't say I've ever had any. So let me tell you about my tragedies:
My cooking tragedies
Oh harken back to the Bulletproof Birthday Cake... Then there were the scrambled beer eggs. Ghastly. The death-by-garlic lima beans of my youth are still discussed occasionly, as are my hockey puck sticky buns. I could go on, but why embarrass myself needlessly?

Kansas Tomato Sandwich
Well there's nothing better on a hot summer day. But I have to say, a tomato sandwich without MAYO might as well stay home. I give you credit for listing a common gardner's summertime treat! YUMMY.

Oh So Tender Brisket
Incredible. You won't believe how delicious this is. The low heat and slow cooking make for a melt-in-your- mouth brisket. I'm salivating just thinking about it!

Double Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake
I made this instead of the traditional Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie last year, and it was a BIG hit. I had to make more the day after Thanksgiving: there'd been no leftovers to bring home!
