Chicken Fried Steak I

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2009
I used cube steak and while it was delicious... I couldn't keep the cube steak from falling apart while dipping it in the milk and flour. Any pointers?

Shepherd's Pie V

I didn't use any of the spices recommended in this recipe since I was missing most of them. Instead, I used worcestershire sauce and Lipton's Savory Garlic and Herb mix in the meat/veggie mixture. I also used lowfat sour cream in the mashed potatoes instead of milk. My husband said it was a bit saltier than he would have liked but he still wants me to make it again. So next time, maybe no salt in the potatoes and very little worcestershire sauce. Unfortunately, I'm a salt addict so I really liked the dish.

Mushroom Pork Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 6, 2006
This recipe was great - it's even fool proof! I accidentally used cream of chicken soup (only used 2/3 of the can)instead of cream of mushroom and my boyfriend still devoured it. I took the advice of previous members and added worcestershire, thyme, fresh onions, and white wine. I used the Beringer Chenin Blanc wine and then we had the rest with dinner. As side dishes we had some steamed broccoli and Uncle Bens Long Grain and Wild rice. It was one of the best dinners I've made in a very long time. I'm giving this recipe 4 stars because it was very good but I don't know what it tastes like when you actually follow the recipe. :)

Baked Dijon Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2004
It was a big hit and easy to make, especially for someone who lacks any kind of kitchen sense (me). Based on some of the suggestions: 1)I did not use the pecans, 2)I marinated the salmon in the sauce for 20 mins, 3) and I didn't add the bread crumb until the last 5 minutes before it was done baking. I will definitely be making this again!
