Pumpkin Toffee Cheesecake

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
I made this for a friend's birthday who is a baker/cake decorator. So I was intimidated to bring a sweet item into her house. I picked this recipe because it had all of her favorite things, pumpkin, chocolate (I used Heath bars), and caramel. It was fabulous and a huge hit. The only thing I will do different next time is cook a little big longer to set the middle more. But I think that was more from my oven then the recipe. It was smooth and creamy but not too sweet. I will make this again very very soon.

Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 28, 2009
This is by far the best banana bread ever. I only added (changed) 3 things. Per the suggestion of others, I added one more banana and mashed the banana's. I also caramelize my walnuts by lightly heating them with 1 tbsp of salted butter and 1 tbsp sugar. This is something my grandmother always did with any banana nut recipe. The banana bread came out tender, moist and absolutely delicious.

Chicken Delicious

This got another Wow from my husband and "its a keeper' from my 8 year old. The only thing I add is more spices. I have made this a couple of times and have changed up the spices each time

Warm and Spicy Autumn Punch

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
Made this for a party recently. I was pleasantly surprised that it was almost gone by the end of the party. It is my observation that punches do not get drank at parties, people stick to the "bottles" or "cans". It just took one person to try it and exclaim how good it was and others were diving into it.

Chicken In Sour Cream

Needed a quick recipe and found this one. Very tender and easy to make. A bit bland so I will tinker with some of my own spices next time. I will make this one again.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
I thought this was a fabulous recipe. It did create a lot of liquid in the bowl. But the taste was great. My 8 and 5 year old actually ate broccoli.

Cashew Crusted Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
This was an OK recipe. The chicken was hard to coat in the cashews. My cashew mixture got very clumpy. The flavor was good. Watch the cook time as mine was a tad bit dry. I am not sure this is worth the effort or the cost (the cashews cost $6.00).

Asian-Style Pork Chop Bake

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2009
This was a great recipe. My 8 year old said "this is a keeper". I was not able to marinate it for long, maybe 3 hours. It was juicy and very flavorful.

Simple Slow Cooker Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
This was the best meatloaf recipe ever. My kids gobbled it up. My "hate meatloaf" husband loved it. The only thing I changed was that I did not have ketchup in the house so I used BBQ sauce. Spectacular. Thanks for sharing.

Spooky Witches Fingers

Visually these cookies were a big hit. Although if you make them too long they break when transferring them to a cookie plater. The taste was OK but the desired affect was established.....oooooo, those look gross. I would make them again

Raspberry-Glazed Rosemary Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2008
A good recipe and I followed it exactly. I only gave it four stars because I would need to be in the mood for the mixture of flavors. Not something I would cook all the time, but still tasty.

Pork Tenderloin in Bourbon

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2008
I am just an average cook and when my husband took a bite of this I got an "Oh Wow!". I took the advice of others and made extra marinade so that I could turn into gravy. My kids, Mother in Law and husband devoured it. I had a small chunk of meat left over so I took it to work the next day. Not all that great as a left over but will make again as a main dish very soon.

Amish Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2007
I made this for our annual Christmas breakfast. I choose to make two different varieties: one with bacon and onion and the other with sausage and chives. I took other reviewers advice and added an extra egg and slightly increased the cooking time. Both of these versions went over very well and will use them again.

Blueberry Streusel Coffee Cake

I made this for our annual Christmas breakfast. There was not a piece left. I had to email this recipe to several people. The only change that I made was to add pecans to the topping and increased the cooking time.

Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2006
I choose this recipe b/c others said it was easy to go through the cookie press and I wanted to let the kids help. That was not the case at all for me, in fact my husband had a hard time getting the dough to go through. I ended up adding about 1/2 cup of evaporated milk. The cookies still tasted wonderful but were too crumbly (probably from the evap milk). I would try another recipe especially if the kids are helping.

Spur Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2006
This will be the sugar cookie recipe that I use from now on. You know the Loft House Cookies that you can buy in the grocery store, that is what these are like. They were soft and tasted great. My husband did not care for the lemon flavoring, said he would prefer an orange or vanilla. But it did not stop him from eating 10 before they were frosted. I made christmas cut outs and the recipe made 63 cookies. Awesome recipe, thanks for posting it.

Caribbean-Spiced Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2006
I was sceptical when I saw the ingredients. I made a 6lb chicken for my family of 4. We almost ate the entire chicken. My husband LOVED it and wants me to make it for our parents. My kids, ages 3 and 6, loved it too. I would do this one again very soon.

Green Bean Bundles II

This was a good recipe. I used fresh beans. I took them out of the marinade and parboiled them before putting them under the broiler. Next time I would cut the bacon in half lenghtwise to make the wrapping easier.

Instant Pistachio Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2005
This is an awesome recipe any time of year. There has never been leftovers when I make it. It is easy and delicious. I always add pecans to mine and refrigerate it overnight. That seems to allow the mixture to settle in a bit. Enjoy.
