Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2009
Tasted great, looked pretty after it dried; however, the next day it was kind of splotchy looking, with white patches on the surface. Wonder what I did wrong?

Hasty Chocolate Pudding

Pretty good; I think a boxed pudding tastes better, though.

Yummmm!! We skipped adding the coffee, but the recipe was wonderful without it. We'll make this one again.

Awesome Crab Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
My husband thinks this is the best soup ever. 8 oz of crab is usually two cans; however on one occasion, I didn't have two cans, so I made the soup with just one. 4 oz is more than enough, I've used that much ever since.

Hot Apple Cider

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
I skipped the maple syrup, and didn't have the allspice berries and orange/lemon peel. But my family loved this recipe without those ingredients. I simmered it for about 20 minutes - I'll make this again.

Sausage Stuffing

This was good. I added 14 oz. of chicken broth before baking and it still was a little dry. I probably won't make it again.

Sausage Gravy III

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2009
My husband, the only person who will eat this in our house, enjoyed this dish. It was a little thin when I followed the recipe at stated, so I had to add a little more flour. In the past, I've added leftover chopped smoked sausage; adds a nice flavor. I'll make this again.

Ham 'n' Swiss Ring

Reviewed: Nov. 19, 2009
Really delicious and a great way to use up leftover ham! Instead of using the crescent dough triangles, I use a Pillsbury Crescent Dough Sheet; if you don't need a decorative ring, this is quick as you don't have to arrange or pinch together all the triangles. Lay the dough sheet on a lined baking pan and spread the ham filling down the center of the dough, mounding it so the dough to the right and left of the filling is exposed. Use a knife to cut 1 inch wide strips in the exposed dough. Fold the side strips over the ham like a braid, alternating strips from each side. Pinch to seal. Tasty and fast!

Double Crust Stuffed Pizza

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2009
Great pizza. I was dubious about putting the uncooked meat pattie in the middle and baking it; so I crumbled the meat and sauteed it. I also sauteed the mushrooms, assembled the pizza and baked for 40 minutes. I'll cut the cooking time by 5 minutes next time.

Fabulous taste, quick and easy. These vanish in a day when I make them. Add 1/2 teaspoon vanilla for a little extra flavor.

Suzy's Mashed Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2009
Really good potatoes. I used Purple Majesty potatoes - the light purple color was a huge hit with the children! Good flavor, I added garlic powder with parsley, the sour cream, skipped the milk. Will make this one again.

Gourmet Sweet Potato Classic

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
I expected this to be so good, but was disappointed. This dish should go on the dessert table; way too much sugar, and I cut the sugar by half in the yam mixture! The baked consistency was oddly dry. Won't make this one again.

Bacon Wrapped Brown Sugar Smokies Dipping Sauce

Very good sauce - compliments the Brown Sugar Smokies. I made half a recipe of the sauce and it was enough for a full recipe of the sausages.

Grandma's Corn Chowder

Very good, but I'm with those who said they added a little flour to thicken the chowder. It was a bit too watery for me.

Easy Sausage Strata

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
Very good, even the kids liked it. I added mushrooms, onions, garlic and it had a great flavor. Made it spur of the moment, so it was only refrigerated for 5 hours. Baked up fine, so don't worry if you can't let it sit for 8 hours or overnight.

Walnut Chocolate Burritos

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
Very good! I didn't have walnuts so I omitted them, and I added the marshmallows. My kids loved them; I was concerned about cinnamon as part of a chocolate mixture, but it is terrific. I heated them on Medium Low and put a piece of foil over the pan to ensure the chips and marshmallows melted. Yum!

Sourdough Chipotle Chicken Panini

It was good, but the sourdough bread flavor and the dressing seemed to overpower to the point that I could not taste the other ingredients. I won't make this again.

Cake Mix Cookies VIII

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
Pretty good if you need a cookie in a hurry. We used red velvet cake mix and added 1/2 cup white chips and 1/2 cup chocolate chips. I used 1/2 TBL oil and 1 TSP vanilla. Consistency was fine, minimal spreading of cookies during baking.

Pinwheel Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 27, 2009
This is such a good recipe - truly gourmet meatloaf! Unfortunately, my husband doesn't like it, so I only prepare it occasionally. My only change is to bake it in a pyrex dish, not the loaf pan. It takes too long to cook in the loaf pan.
