I am 47 years old and just recently have been learning to cook for 3 instead of just myself. Just add love and "instant family" So far my "new" 14 year old hasn't found a thing she doesnt like that I have cooked for her and is showing an increased interest herself in cooking. My boyfriend has gained 15 pounds and told me to stop cooking so "gwood" because he just can't stop eating .
My favorite things to cook
My new family really likes the seafood and pasta dishes I have tried. I am enviromentally Italian and it seems my stuffed seashells have made a lasting impression.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I never really had many of these considering my cooking skills, thus far, have been rather hap-hazard. I never learned any cooking skills frommy mother or my grandmother, it's all been self taught , trial and error and some "icky" faces along the way.
My cooking triumphs
My stuffed seas shells, swiss steak and broiled salmon are constant requests around here. Until about 7 years ago I had never made soup in my life. I have since become the "glug glug" (chicken soup) QUEEN in my family. HUGE requests by everyone, including my mother who raves that it is even better than hers. Now thats a true TRIUMPH !
My cooking tragedies
Considering my above statement regarding being enviromentally Italian, I can't bake a lasagna so save my soul. Dreadful on every account !
