Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
I used 1 stick of baking margarine, 3/4 cup of sugar and I omitted the water. They were really good! I also mixed the white sugar with some flour before I rolled the dough in it. Will make these again :)

Whoopie Pies VIII

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
I've never made whoopie pies before so i have nothing to compare it to. But judging from other people's reviews and Mr.Wiki I pretty much managed to figure what these would turn out like. They were good, I did lessen the sugar to 3/4 cup (I half the original amount)because some said it was really sweet. I also added cinnamon and all spice for extra umph (I was a bit sick of the plain chocolate taste). The consistency was thick enough to be piped, so that you'll get a more even shape ( I figured that out half way baking 'em - duhh!) Didn't make the filling, used peanut butter buttercream instead and they became super-super good! Will make them again! :)

Vegan Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
Great Recipe! I've made tonnes of these vegan kinds and they never turn out good. This is by far the best vegan chocolate cupcake I've ever had. I did up the cocoa powder to give the cake a more chocolaty taste to it. And I sub the water with milk (cause I'm not a vegan :)) A great qucik fix for anyone craving for chocolate. Will make these again! Thanks for the recipe.

Persimmon Bread II

Reviewed: Nov. 4, 2008
Good! I didn't have any ripe persimmons at hand, so I put the persimmons in a blender and blend them into a mush. I halved the oil,and used olive oil instead. Also halved the sugar, used more brown sugar instead of white, and sub 1/3 of the flour with whole wheat flour. Added diced dates. Will make again! Thanks!

WOW!This recipe is pretty good - for something that only needs a few ingredients and a microwave. I lessen the sugar, add more cocoa powder and a pinch of salt to balance out the sweetness.Turned out super-good! Thanks for the recipe!

Waffles I

Reviewed: Aug. 19, 2008
Very good and easy. I find beating the eggs until fluffy being the trick to making these waffles nice and crispy.Less hassle than beating the egg whites separately and these waffles came out just the way I wanted them. Will use this recipe from now on. Thanks! :)

Costas French Market Doughnuts (Beignets)

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
Yummy Yummy beignets. Haven't tasted the real thing from Cafe Du Monde, but judging from the outcome of these yummy delights I can imagine what the real taste must taste like :) Also what I did was to eat them with sardine in tomato sauce. Tips when frying: Make sure the oil is not TOO hot or the inside won't cook and the outside would browned too much. Always flip them over and over again to get even colors on both sides. Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Potato Chips

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2008
I've tried this recipe quite a while ago and I have to say I'm impressed with the outcome. Even though it takes some time and effort to make them, if you want your chips to be "healthy" chips, then investing your time on it wouldn't be a total waste. Regarding those whose chips turned out soggy,I think that is because they didn't microwave it long enough or the slices of potatoes were too soggy.I usually pat them dry with a kitchen towel before lightly coating them with oil and salt. And only take them out once they start to brown, if not continue microwaving. They might be soft at first but once u let them cool, they'll turn crispy.

Chocolate Cakes with Liquid Centers

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2007
YUMM! My advise is to eat it warm with ice cream or whipped cream. And use ramekins instead of muffin trays.Or cut the cooking time short if using muffin trays cause they cook a lot faster causing the middle to cook as well.

A-Number-1 Banana Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2006
Great recipe! I didn't have any butter so I used margarine at it still turned out delicious. I made the cake one day ahead and wrapped it in cling wrap for a whole night to get the cake all moist and soft. Omitted the white sugar to half, left out the walnuts, and added in s few dashes of All Spice.Later I frosted it with chocolate ganache at it was yummm, yumm, yummm! I prefer chilling it first before eating it. A keeper!

French Crepes

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2006
Great tasting crepes! I followed what others said about putting a few drops of vanilla essence into the mixture and it turned out fabulous! Easy to handle, and you have to work very fast with this mixture because its a bit runny; but the easier to spread it out on the griddle :) My non-stick pan was a bit big, so I used a laddle ( small sized) and pour it on top, give it a nice wiggle to get the mixture evenly spread. Remember to remove your pan from the heat when doing this because the mixture gets cook pretty fast. I ate it with whipped cream & bananas. YUMMM! Thanks for the recipe :)

Juiciest Hamburgers Ever

Great burgers.I agree with the other reviewers about using supermarket-bought bread crumbs. They make the burger slightly crumbly. But the taste was superb anyhow. Will make again. Nx time I might try use fresh bread crumbs. Thanks again!

Beignets

Delicious! I've never heard of these so-called doughnuts before. They taste a bit bland without the sugar, but once you top 'em with it, great! I roll them in sugar while they're still warm so the sugar sticks to the doughnuts better. I love it that way. Thanks for sharing this recipe. Definitely will make again :0)

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2006
Great recipe! Though I used chunky peanut butter instead so the filling didn't really oozes out from the cookie. It changed the texture of the cookie a little bit. I wanted to have small bits of peanuts in the cookies, that's why I used Chunky PB instead. Maybe next time I'll use the chunky one to mix with the flour and the cream one for the filling. Will make these again :-)

Chocolate Velvet Ice Cream

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2006
all I can say is, WOW!! this recipe is so simple and the outcome is just as promised. I didn't have any ice cream maker but the ice cream turned out just fine. What I did was to whip the cream a little bit, then add the chocolate+sugar+egg mixture. Froze it in the fridge overnight and voila! Homemade chocolate ice cream. The taste is excellent and you'll never go wrong with this recipe. Thanks for sharing :)
