Butter Icing for Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Just tried this. I liked it--you can adjust the consistancy to the kind of decorating you're doing, it's got good flavor (I wonder if the 1 Tablespoon is a misprint; I used 1 teaspoon), and it gets just the right amount of hardness on top so the cookies don't stick together. I think if you're doing intricate artwork on a cookie, you might want a harder icing, but for just plain GOOD EATIN', this is the best!

Baked Chicken Nuggets

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
The last time a served my 3 year old grandson frozen chicken nuggets, they were so tough he couldn't bite through them. After making this recipe tonight, I'll NEVER buy frozen nuggets again. These were wonderful and so much better! Boyfriend doesn't like herbs so I didn't put them in, but I used seasoned salt. I also took the other reviewer's advice and used the milk with vinegar instead of butter; worked great! I am sooo happy to have this delicious and economical recipe!

Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2009
My family loved this. They say they particularly liked the potatoes. I think this is because it's flavorful but doesn't have all the cheese and canned creamed soup like other equally tasty pork chop recipes.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2009
This creamy hot soup was perfect for us as it's unseasonably cold here in Kansas. I loved the way it filled the house with such a comforting aroma as it cooked! I doubled the recipe and am so glad I did. It'll be even better today! I baked a ham the day before so I added about a cup of the ham jelly I saved from the roasting pan...I did this instead of the chicken boullion. Bf says it's the best potato soup he's ever had!

Mom's Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
I'd call this a "traditional" zucchini bread and it's perfect! You can't get any better than this...early in the morning with your first cup of coffee...mmmmm. Freezes well! Thanks for the recipe!

Corned Beef Hash

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
Used leftover corned beef for this and thought it was very good. Boyfriend likes it cuz it doesn't have a lot of herby flavors going on. Used a whole can of broth and let it cook down. Pure comfort!

Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2009
5 star recipe! Made it as directed, but I made a two crust and baked at 400 for 50 minutes, AND I used Altern (Splenda). Boyfriend couldn't wait for it to cool and is now eating it hot with vanilla ice cream. He's happy!

Cajun Spice Mix

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2009
I particularly liked this recipe because it's easy, I had all the ingredients, and it is wonderful! And you can control the heat. I'll NEVER buy expensive Cajun spice mixtures again.

Cuban Ropa Vieja

Reviewed: May 24, 2009
I know very little about Cuban food and was glad I tried this recipe. We loved the flavors of the cumin and slow cooked tomato sauce, and the meat was very tender. It was so easy, too!

Cucumber Sandwich

Reviewed: May 17, 2009
I've been trying for years to duplicate a wonderful sandwich I had at a restaurant along the Alcan Hiway. This has to be as good if not better than the one I had. Wonderful flavors! Crunchy and creamy! 5 stars!

Stuffed Green Peppers II

I thought the combination of everything was right on and it's so easy! My boyfriend liked these and said his ex made them all the time but mine were much better! Did cook longer to get the peppers softer. Thanks!

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: May 4, 2009
This was wonderful! Easy, cheesy and flavorful! I prepared it ahead of time and refrigerated it until an hour before guests arrived. Baked till bubbly. Everyone loved it. My two year old grandson put the ziti on his fingers which, to me, must be the best way to eat it!

Tiramisu Layer Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
Very forgiving recipe, for I really bumbled through it and it turned out great anyway! Used what I THOUGHT was instant espresso in the cake, but it wasn't. We ended up having coffee grounds in the first layer, but it was good anyway (nobody knew!).

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
Everyone loved these! I precooked them like another reviewer suggested, but mainly so I wouldn't have to roast them so long when I had something else I wanted to put in the oven. I'm thinking they could be roasted at a higher temperature too. Sprinkled with Kosher salt after they came out of the oven. Mighty fine!

Pie Crust IV

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
I usually buy the refrigerated ready made pie crust, but didn't have any tonight and I wanted to make Chicken Pot Pie IX. I was pleasantly surprised with this recipe. I think it's better than the store bought and I think it's easier to handle than any I've ever made. I'll make this recipe instead from now on.

Easy Pizza Sauce III

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
I always try to grab the pieces of pizza that have the most sauce on them. It's my favorite part of the pizza and this sauce is exactly like what I want it to be. It's thick, flavorful and tastes really fresh! Since I started making my own pizzas, I've been using sauce out of a jar. Well, never again. This sauce is just too easy and by far better. Thanks!

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2009
This is a tried and true recipe I felt confident to make and sure enough, it was on the money. I didn't change a thing and we loved it! It's easy and if you have things chopped and measured before you start, it's a snap! We did pass the pepper shaker, so I might make that 3/4 t. next time. I'm very glad I trusted all the other cooks out there in allrecipe land to point this recipe out to me. Thanks to you and Robbie!

One Bowl Chocolate Cake III

Next time I make this, I'm not even going to ice it. It is so moist, tender and chocolaty, it doesn't need frosting! We absolutely loved this cake! Thanks!
