Married and the last of my 3 children just married and leaving home. I have a very demanding job and prefer to cook quick and easy during the week, with more challenging cooking on the weekend when I have more time. I get bored with the same ole and like to experiment with lots of different types of food
My favorite things to cook
I like trying different ways of ccoking vegies, as that is always my favorite part of a meal. I love getting ideas from recipes, and then creating my own versions.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love Thanksgiving. No matter how I've tried to not cook the entire meal, everyone has their favorites that I make, so I typically do all of the cooking. It wouldn't be Thanksgiving without my homemade noodles, corn casserole, and broccoli rice casserole.
My cooking triumphs
This past Fathers day I made a rack of lamb for the first time. Got my ideas on how to cook it from a recipee here. I had no panko bread crumbs, and cannot find those in this area, so I put rice krispies in the food processor and used those. Hubby says it's the best I've ever done.
My cooking tragedies
I wanted to make an amaretto mouse like I've had at a local restaurant. I typicaly do not make sweets and I had never made a mousse before, and I added the amaretto to the end result. Ended up pouring it down the garbage disposal. So much for the perfect ending to a romantic dinner.
