I am a full-time student at present, studying to be a Library Tech. I love to read, write, and learn interesting and little-known facts. I also love music. I have been playing the violin since I was 9 years old, and I also play the viola and piano. I used to be a Classical snob, but for the last couple of years I have began to branch out, and now I enjoy playing Celtic-style music and jazz. Library service is not my dream job, but I think I'll be content for a few years. What I really would like to do is be a travel writer/expert, like Rick Steves, only not dorky! Forget the Euro tour! I am much more interested in seeing Asia and Africa. The main obstacle in the way of my dreams is that I don't have enough money just yet to even go to the nearest city! College is expensive!
My favorite things to cook
I love to try new things to cook, but my favorite things to cook are spicy curries and cookies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have no traditions. My family is too hectic and fickle for tradition!
My cooking triumphs
This Thanksgiving I made a picture-perfect turkey! It was delicious.
My cooking tragedies
So many tragedies, so little time! Just kidding. I've had a few fiascoes, but not very memorable ones. The most memorable was a few years ago, I tried to make some fudge as Christmas presents for my friends. I had never made fudge before, so it was my first try. Naturally, being me, I didn't follow the directions to the letter. The result was a mess! It was basically just sugar soup; it never solidified, even after freezing overnight! I know not to ever do that again!
