It is Awesome :)
Cheese Turkey
About this Cook
I'm a SAHM of two with a husband who isn't afraid to try new things (although the kids are frequently picky)
My favorite things to cook
I love my crock pot and anything that I can make in it, even dessert. I make a mean pot of spaghetti sauce with/without meatballs. My mexican pie gets rave reviews as does my Awesome Broccoli Casserole (thank you allrecipes:). And my father in law gets a pan of lemon squares for his birthday every year.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking was always part of my family. Christmas in our family doesn't consist of ham and turkey (that's Thanksgiving). Instead, we make pans and pans of lasagna with tiny, hand-rolled meatballs, braciole, and of course canoli for dessert. I've been rolling tiny meatballs and stuffing canoli since I could hold a spoon :)
My cooking triumphs
The first year I was the holiday hostess. I made the lasagna all by my lonesome. My mom was supposed to help, but came down with the flu and slept most of the day. It turned out great.
My cooking tragedies
On the way to a potluck, my chocolate poundcake (which literally takes hours to prepare) fell off the platter onto the floor of the car. Luckily, no harm done, thankfully my car was clean. And only my husband and I were aware that something went wrong.

All-Day Apple Butter
This is really good. I didn't have any cloves and like a previous reviewer, I just omitted it. And I used half brown sugar and half white. Also, I let it cook all day and night and still was too chunky even after stirring so I just popped it in the blender and it turned out great. My kids woke up this morning thinking I was baking something yummy for breakfast :) Fooled them HA!

Flourless Peanut Butter Cookies
I have to say that I love these cookies. My Dear Husband is a peanut butter fanatic so he likes to have them a lot. This is the perfect amount for our family to finish without feeling guilty for eating all the cookies :) I did add a bit of vanilla, but other than that used only the 3 ingredients listed. I didn't roll them into balls as the dough looked too sticky, so I spooned them out like you would chocolate chip cookies and pushed them down with a fork and they were rustic and very pretty and extremely delicious. I may try making them with Splenda next time for my mom who is a diabetic.

Self-Rising Flour
This was cool since I wanted to use some wheat flour and they don't sell self-rising wheat flour in my stores. It worked great for my pancakes!
