About this Cook
Love to cook for others especially my best friend who can't boil an egg! My husband is not too fond of a woman our age waiting for someone else to cook, but I love it! (Plz don't tell him).
My favorite things to cook
Anything in the slow cooker. And now they make the plastic bags to go inside the pot. WATCH OUT!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I cherish the holidays because I still help my grandmother cook. It brings back childhood memories. We cook and listen to the same nostalgic music from 30+ years ago. I cherish her and this tradition.
My cooking triumphs
After 36 years, I decided to host Thanksgiving dinner. My first crack at the bird was a huge hit thanks to the recipe from this website (Michigander Turkey).
My cooking tragedies
I'm from the south and I tried to make seafood gumbo when I was 19. In a nutshell, the color of the liquid is suppose to be brown; however mine was green! Don't know where I went wrong and to this day, my family is still wondering as well.

Oh-So-Good Chicken
Acutally, this dish tasted better on the second day; however my family enjoyed it. I have to play around with the spices (cumin, cilantro, another brand of salsa, ???) to give it a kick, but definitely a keeper. Thanks!

Four Cheese Macaroni
I simmered the velvetta, egg, & half-half on low for about 15mins (enough so that the mixture was creamy in texture). The burner can't be high and you have to constantly stir. I poured the sauce into the pasta then seasonsed and stirred, then added the remainder of the cheese. I omitted the muenster & used more sharp. My family enjoyed.

Bacon Wrapped Barbeque Shrimp
My husband absolutely loved this dish and wants me to make again really soon. Even though I used colossal shrimp, I still cooked the bacon in the microwave for 2 mins then wrapped the shrimp. Thanks Jan!
