About this Cook
I love cooking and try to prepare something new everyday. My boyfriend says I'm sometimes too "experimental"! :) Allrecipes has been my kitchen bible for a while and I've learnt a lot thanks to all of you, thanks so much! Visit my blog if you speak French (even if you don't, pics speak for themselves): http://mitsu.canalblog.com
My favorite things to cook
I'm watching my weight so i'm definitely looking for low cal recipes! I love to cook different, unusual or original dishes. Indian and Thai cuisine are my favorites playgrounds! Being European, there are a lot of typical American dishes that I don't know but I'm eager to learn. Also, I'm a vegetarian, which means I don't eat meat or fish. I'm not yet ready to become vegan but I try to cook as cruelty-free as possible. My boyfriend is your typical meat-and-potato guy so I still cook meat dishes from time to time. That's what love does to you! :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mum has the most delicious tomato sauce ever! She uses it in lasagna, spaghetti Bolognese, garlic shrimps and meatballs. I haven't been able to find her secret until now. Our newest tradition is sunday lunch: mum prepares the main dish and I bring the dessert.
My cooking triumphs
Recently, we had a housewarming party and I made the entire appetizers buffet from scratch. Felt like an achievement...
My cooking tragedies
One word: polenta!

Pasta Melanzana
Not bad for a quick weekday meal! Pine nuts would be a nice addition.

African Peanut Soup
This is my new favorite soup recipe! Seen the ingredients, I wasn't too sure I would like it but I changed my mind as soon as I tasted it. Make sure to throw in some cilantro for added oomph!

Tofu and Veggies in Peanut Sauce
Yummy and quick, perfect for a week night! The sauce seemed to lack a little zing so I used more soy sauce and vinegar. Prior pan-frying the tofu is a must!
