About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom of 3.
My favorite things to cook
Seafood in every way. And desserts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Cooking an all vegetarian feast comprising of at least 7 dishes on September 8th every year (a religious observance) using mostly ethnic vegetables and making Christmas sweets both traditional and new ones I've learned since moving to the US.
My cooking triumphs
My salmon chowder and tandoori chicken are always a hit. And I make a really good Blueberry coffee cake.
My cooking tragedies
Cantaloupe Panna Cotta. I have tried and tried, but it always ends up a watery mess.

Beet Bundt Cake
I was looking for a good way to get rid of a big purchase of beets courtesy my DH. And did I hit the jackpot! This cake turned out moist and lightly sweet and tastes rich and not at all healthy like you would expect vegetable to taste. ;) It has a dense almost fudge brownie kind of texture. I did add one additional TBSP of cocoa powder and that's it. I would recommend a light glaze for those who have a big sweet tooth. Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Tasty Buns
This recipe was very good and easy to follow. The buns came out bakery-quality good. I replaced 2 cups of the all-piurpose flour with whole wheat flour to make it healthier. It tasted great. And it took less than an hour! These make really big buns, so, the next time I make them, I'll probably make 15 instead of 12 buns.

Perfect Flat Iron Steak
This was a very easy and flavorful recipe. I did add a little more garlic and rosemary than called for, but that's because I like my flavors a little intense. I also used the pan scrapings to make a simple wine and mushroom gravy to round it out. Thanks for the recipe.
