About this Cook
I'm the youngest out of the bunch and had my share of helping at dinner time. So now that I'm all grown up and experimented more than enough, I have come to terms that I enjoy most of my time in the kitchen cooking & baking. There are 3 generations of bakers in my family and it rubbed off on me too so when I start baking, look out cause I don't stop just at 2 desserts. Mind you, my husband and family like it. I told my husband that I need a bigger kitchen (hehehe).
My favorite things to cook
I am more into baking than cooking so I would say my most favorite thing to make is my FAMOUS RUMBALLS and to bake is pies & cakes (pretty much anything & everything). I'd like to get into a catering business and put my talents to work also.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking traditions is my enchilada's at Thanksgiving, my sweet potatoes at Christmas. We would gather in the kitchen to do their part in preparing the big meal. As we do this, we sample each others dishes and by the time it's ready to sit down we don't want to eat anything.
My cooking triumphs
My cooking triumph was when I finally mastered making my gravies. Another triumph is when I realized that my cooking was actually enjoyable. LOL
My cooking tragedies
My cooking tragedies was the first time I made homemade gravy, it was too funny. Another tragedy was making an apple crumble pie that I failed at terribly, even the oven was a total mess.

Chocolate Covered Strawberries
This is always a good quick recipe to do for Valentines. I did this for a dinner party we went to last night but didn't add the shortening which I thought was even better. Once the strawberries were dipped, I sprinkled chopped pecans on some, red & white candy sprinkles on others and some left plain. I also dipped banana pieces in the melted chocolate then drizzled peanut butter on each one. A HUGE HIT! Mind you, when I make my rumballs I do add veggie oil to thin out the chocolate.

Stuffed Strawberries
This recipe was a huge hit. I changed things up a little by cutting the stems off and piped the filling through the tops then drizzled chocolate on each strawberry. VERY, VERY, VERY GOOD!

Thirty Day Friendship Cake
My review is part 1 of 2. I'm a little concerned right now. I started with the 3 week process of making the "starter juice" and that was ok. Now I'm on the 2nd 10 stretch by adding the sugar and pineapple. It states that the mixture should foam when stirring. It's not happening when I do the daily stirring. I hope this is going to be ok. I'll keep you posted when I bake the cakes. When completed, I'll rate this recipe again.
