Slow Cooker Chicken Stroganoff

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
So yummy. Only had thighs so I used those. After cooking the chicken I took it out and left only the broth. Then added fresh sliced mushrooms and onions. turn it up to high for 30 mins. (You may need to add some more chicken broth) Then after picking out the bones added the chicken, soup and cheese. Turned the cooker back down to low and cooked as directed. All loved it

Cheesy Brat Stew for the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2009
Didn't follow the recipe exactly as I don't like bell peppers and hubby will not eat green beans. The rest of the recipe gives you a great base to make your own soup. We had some onions which I saute in garlic, threw in some carrots and use cheesy brats but you can use whatever you want.

Bacon Water Chestnut Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
The best ever! I soaked the waterchestnuts in soy sauce and sugar overnight. Ran the back of the knife over the bacon to get some of the fat off the bacon. This also streches out the bacon so you can actually cut the bacon in thirds if you like.

The Best Slow Cooker Cream Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2008
This is really good and so easy to make. Followed the recipe expect used cheddar cheese instead of American. Just preference on my side. Made it for a potluck at work or I would have added some chilies/jalapenos to spice it up.

D's Famous Salsa

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2008
this is some great stuff. The best part is that you can modify it to taste of who you are making for. If you want it hot then use fresh jalapeno instead of chilies. One time a made it with the chilies and one jalapeno just so you could get the favor of the jalapeno but not that hot. You can also use almost any kind of stewed, diced flavor tomatoes as they will be blended anyway.

Corned Beef and Cabbage I

Reviewed: Jul. 8, 2008
great recipe. Had to triple it as I was making it for a crowd. Put the meat in roasters to cook and added beer. When it was time for the veggies I added caraway seed as it seems to make the cabbage have less gas if you know what I mean. Also had to cook the carrots and potatoes longer as I had so many.

Water Chestnut Wraparounds

Simply and great. Soaked the chestnut overnight and took the back of a knife and streched the bacon so the half piece to bacon wrapped twice around the chestnut.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2008
The best. I only made half of the recipes as we were only having a few people over for poker. Needless to say my daughter volenteered to go the store and get more ingredients if I would make more. Do not let this one pass you by. Made it just as it says.

Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2008
Most excellent. Followed the recipe as is expect used real bacon. Also I oiled the potatoes and preheated the oven to 425 to get a crispy skin. Then I just cut the top off of the potatoe to make deeper so that you can stuff more stuff in them!!! Scoop out all but about 1/4 inch around so the potatoe doesn't break.

Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
I love this recipe because it gets the potatoes out of the way. I make them the night before and just set the crock pot bowl in the refrig. Next day take them out put them in the crock and your done. don't have to worry about making room on the stove or oven. Just stir them up alittle very now and then and they are piping hot to serve.

Made it for a potluck and had to give the recipe to everyone there. I did quarter the tomatoes to make them alittle easier to eat. Also added a little mayo to the sour cream.

Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2007
The only way to cook a turkey. The white meat is so juicy that I even like eating it. We used an ice cooler because our turkey was 18lbs. We just checked it a couple times a day to make sure there was still ice in the cooler to keep the turkey cold. We brined it for 2 days

Cheesy Catfish Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 1, 2007
not a really fan of catfish but had some that I needed to use. This is a great recipe because you can't really tell it is catfish. I did saute the celery and carrots with the onions just to soften them up. But followed everything else.

It was a little salty for us but then we really don't use salt when eating or cooking. Next time I think I won't use the whole packet of soup mix and just add some onions.

Grilled Garlic Potatoes

Reviewed: Aug. 24, 2007
The great thing about recipe is that it is the basic of the recipe. You can add some many different things. Like Bacon, cilatro, peppers, rosemary whatever you have a taste for. I do dice the potatoes and spray the foil with PAM so they do not stick to the foil.
