I've been cooking for more than 30 years, I would rather be at home cooking than doing anything else!
My favorite things to cook
Casseroles, grilling, open campfire cooking. I love trying new recipes and love sharing recipes. My brother was featured on Food Network (I was on the show as well) with an old family recipe, so we come from a long family history of cooks!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love cooking for the family for the holidays. Everyone looks forward to my traditional home cooking!
My cooking triumphs
I rarely follow cooking ingredients/directions to a "T", I usually change or add spices or ingredients to a recipe. It makes things unique, interesting and fun. I love coming up with my "own" casseroles, especially when I want to clear out the pantry and/or freezer. I came up with a chicken casserole many years ago that everyone raved about and it has since become a recipe that I make at least once every month or so.
My cooking tragedies
I can only think of one tragedy... it was just about a month after I was married, I bought a box of Chef Boyardee lasagne, made it, served it to my husband and his friend. They HATED it, it was awful, but being U.S. Marines, they ate it anyway!
