About this Cook
My mom was my geatest inspiration growin up. She never measured a thing so imagine how hard it was for me to learn. Yet she always took the time to help me measure if I really needed it. She is great. I have 2 children my 3yr old Hannah and my 5 Month old baby Rebekah. I am a stay at home mom
My favorite things to cook
My favorite food to cook has to be chicken. I absolutely love to cook chicken, especially keping it low fat so I like the breast meat best. I love to use orange peels and onions in my chicken. The flavor is mild yet intense at the same time. The color is very attractive.I like to eat foods that look good to me!!! I also love to decorate cakes!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every holiday my mom made it a big deal to try to cook to the ocassion. So she has kinda passed it on down to me and my 3 year old. Christmas is always our favorite because of the variety of colors and tastes. For example the coca-cola Ham that only got made at christmas. And the homemade fruit rolls. The homemade banana nut bread was my favorite. And of course the chocolate cookies for Santa and the elfs.
My cooking triumphs
I kinda consider myself a scientist when it comes to cooking. My mom never knew what I was making heck neither did I most of the time yet it usually always came out great. Thankfully I had a patient mother!!! My Uncle always looked forward to my cooking even as a child. He said I was a natural.
My cooking tragedies
I have wrecked many a recipes trying to follow the exact measurement. Finally I listened to my mom and started cooking by consistancy instead of recipe. Recipes are great yet sometimes they need a little updating or helping out a little. How did we get this far in the recipe world without trial and error!!!
