About this Cook
Newly remarried and starting a new chapter in my life. My joys include my son, husband, my two greyhounds, and of course, cooking! In the South, as I'm sure it is in many places, food is love and nourshing our families is an expression of love. We're so fortunate to have such easy access to farm fresh produce, local eggs, cheese, milk and grass fed beef here in SC.
My favorite things to cook
I'm a pastry chef, so baking is my passion. I absolutely love baking breads, cakes, cookies, scones and all sorts of pastries. I'm the official cupcake Mom at my son's school. :) I also enjoy experimenting with vegetarian cookery. I've mastered the meatless meatloaf.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family cooking traditions are centered around the holidays. There's nothing like a table full of homemade cookies, cakes, pralines, and especially my family's traditional homemade fudge! I'm known for my bread and cheesecake. Anytime there's a family dinner I'm asked to bring the bread and dessert.
My cooking triumphs
Before, I'd say that perfect chocolate or red velvet cake that opened the door to having my own business. Now a triumph is getting a thumbs up from my family at the end of a meal.
My cooking tragedies
Many, many years ago, I deglazed a very hot pyrex dish that held a very expensive, and very pain-stakingly roasted leg of lamb. The instant the deglazing liquid hit the pyrex dish it broke into hundreds of shards of glass! You live and learn!

Sausage Stuffing Balls
We LOVED these!! They are nearly impossible to stop eating once you start. I made these as an appetizer but they were SO good we practically made a meal out of them.

Cake Mix Cinnamon Rolls
These were absolutely amazing and deserve 100 stars!!! Everyone loved these and they couldn't have been easier to make. I've topped them with a praline glaze as well as cream cheese icing and they're always delicious.

COOL 'N EASY(R) Strawberry Pie
This was a great end to a meal on a HOT summer day. So easy to make and everyone raved about how cool, creamy and refreshing it was. I used a reduced fat pie crust, sugar free Jello and light Cool Whip so it was easy to incorporate into the Weight Watchers plan. Thank you for such a GREAT recipe!
