Chicken and Dumplings III

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
This recipe is great! I made a few changes. Didn't have cream of chicken soup on hand, so i made my own. Boiled 2 cut up chicken breasts and 1 bay leaf in 3 c. salt water for 30 mins. Then i made a base for the soup in a sauce pan: I added chopped garlic to 3TB melted butter, sauteed 2 mins and added 2 handfuls of flour. Stirred flour/butter mixture for 2 mins and then added the water from the cooked, boiled chicken. Stirred well to get rid of lumps. Ta da! Cream of chicken soup!! Followed the rest of the recipe exactly.

Peanut Butter Cookies IV

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2006
WOW! Amazing. My whole family agrees that these were the best PB cookies they had ever had. I refrigerated the dough for an hour, then put them on cookie sheets and made the marks on them with a fork. Popped them in the freezer on their cookie sheet for 5 mins, baked for 8 mins and they were PERFECT. yum yum!

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 12, 2005
I would give this recipe 6 stars if i could! It was absolutely perfect. I added 1/2 cup chopped walnuts, 1/2 cup rasins and left out the cinnamon. For the flour i did 1/2 whole wheat and 1/2 regular flour. This is my new oatmeal cookie recipe! Thanks so much!

Cooking Light magazine's Cherry Cheesecake

This was an excellent recipe! My dad (who never likes alternative, lowfat recipes) LOVED it. It tasted exactly the same as normal cheesecake- but didn't leave you with that really full feeling. Endulge in this treat! This is now my favorite sweet delight!

Homemade Lasagna

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2004
My family loves this recipe! I like a "saucier" lasagna so next time i think i will add another 8 oz can of tomatoe sauce. It also came out a little salty. I will use half the amount of salt next time too and i think that would be plenty. Besides that it was awesome! This is my standard lasagna recipe now!

Baker's Secret Pie Crust

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2004
Yes, this recipe does take a little longer than most pie crust recipes but it is THE BEST crust i have ever tasted. My family raved about how delicious it was- not too salty but not too sweet and SO FLAKY!! Yum! I added 3 1/2 TBS of the egg/vinigar/water mixture and it came out perfect! Thanks for the best pie crust recipe! None compare!

Blackberry Pie I

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2004
This recipe was absolutely WONDERFUL! I used the Baker's Secret pie crust recipe (which is the best pie crust i have ever tasted) and instead of the half cup of flour for the pie filling used 1/4 cup tapioca. I also brushed the bottom crust with egg to prevent it from becoming soggy. Instead of brushing the top crust with milk i used the left over egg and sprinkled it with sugar! It was so beautiful but even more tasty! Thanks for the great recipe!

Cream Puffs

THis recipe is so easy and SO elegant looking! I used chocolate pudding mix and used 2 cups milk and one cup cream (to reduce the fat). It turned out great! I made these for my friends and they all thought that i bought them! To make it look a little fancier i melted a 1/4 cup chocolate chips and 1/2 tsp. shortning in a double boiler and drizzled it over them. YUM!!!

Southern Peach Cobbler

I made this for a potluck and it was the most popular item there! It was absolutely delicious. I think i will use a little less butter next time (to try to make it a little healthier). This is my new favorite peach cobbler!

Whole Wheat Pancakes

Reviewed: May 19, 2004
These pancakes were amazing! i like them better than the traditional "white flour" ones. They had a wonderful taste and while they were a little thin- i liked them because they were light and you didn't feel stuffed after eating them! I didn't have wheat germ so i subsituted in 1/3 cup whole wheat flour. This is now my new pancake recipe!
