Turkey Pot Pie III

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2009
Comfort food! I used what I had (leftover chicken, cream of chicken soup, can of Veg-All, refrigerated roll out pie crust) Delicious and so very easy. Perfect after an exhausting day of work. Pop it in the oven and then relax for 45 minutes. It tasted like much more work went into it. Would definitely make again and again.

Mad Hatter Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
I made this for a group of 16 people...some of who are VERY picky. EVERYBODY loved this! It makes a big bowl, but it was wiped clean. Definitely try this. I used "oriental" flavor Ramen noodles and 1/2 cup butter. Delicious!

Cheesy Italian Tortellini

4-stars BUT I will definitely make this again. It is easy and very tasty and uses just a few ingredients that I always have on hand. What's not to like?! I definitely recommend trying this one.

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2009
I've made this twice. Once exactly as the recipe states and the second time following the recommendations of ssteinerX. First time was great, second time was EXCEPTIONAL! My husband loves roast beef and stated at least 5 times "this is the best meal you have ever made!" (I made this with Traditional Mashed Potatoes" from this site) Definitely try this cooking method. Tender, moist, delicious eye roast. note: I added thinly sliced garlic into the roast.

Salmon with Tomatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
Delicious! I made some adjustments based on what I had on hand. (1 can diced tomatoes with roasted garlic, no dill) I used 1/2 the butter. Quick, easy & delish. Will make this again & again. Note - my husband is not as fond of salmon as I am, but with this chopped up, he really enjoyed it.

YUM! Used fresh broccoli. Also added red peppers and red onion - both sliced thin - while cooking the garlic. Delicious. Colorful. The family thoroughly enjoyed.

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
I made this after finding it through an ingredient search, so I made some minor adjustments based on what I had on hand. I used red pepper, salsa instead of chili sauce, and no sugar. Delicious. Warmed us up on a cold winter night. Also, did the whole thing on the stove. After cooking, I sprinkled the cheese on top and put the lid on until all was melted. Worked perfectly!

Followed recipe as written. Kept dip warm in a small crock pot....which was practically licked clean in about 1 minute.

Ranch Style Oyster Crackers

I reduced the oil (just to make myself feel like it was making something healthier) and skipped the dill (because I didn't have any). My husband and daughter were eating these off the cookie sheet before they were even cooled!

Puppy Chow

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
YUM! I was looking for something easy for a football party that would appeal to kids as well as adults. This is it! I followed another reviewers suggestion to microwave the chocolate and peanut butter. After microwaving, I took another reviewer's advice and added 1/4 cup butter and melted it all together. There was plenty to cover the 9 cups of cereal. Delicious, easy and different from anything I'd made before.

Buttery Spritz Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
Maybe it's something I did - or didn't do - but I had a hard time getting these to come onto the pan in a recognizable shape. I tried refrigerating the dough, and that helped for the first 5 or 6 pressed, but then the dough got very sticky. But they still taste good - so not a total loss. Back to the drawing board for me!

Tortellini With Turkey and Broccoli

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
I had to alter this based on the ingredients I had on hand. I skipped the mushrooms, and used frozen broccoli florets - which I cooked by throwing in with the tortellini. This was quick, delicious, and tasted like I spent MUCH more time than required to make dinner! Husband said it's a definite keeper.
