About this Cook
I live in CANADA. I am an at home mother of 2 (4 and 5). I started cooking when I was 15, and am now 37. I have always loved, and was good at baking, and have now added slow cooking, and main dishes to my abilities. My husband and I visited his family in Italy in 1999, and I learned a great deal about the main Italian dishes that many North Americans enjoy. I only pick out the highly rated recipes on this site with a high number that have rated them 5*, therefore I usually have great luck with my selections. I LOVE this site!!
My favorite things to cook
Baking all things considered gourmet. Anything that is a gourmet version of itself, I love.

Oven Beef Stew
I was impressed! I was short on time. I boiled the stew meat for about 25min. I stuck to the recipe word for word, and placed in oven for about 1 hour. I placed on top of a bed of egg noodles. My 6 year old girl and 5 year old son LOVED it as much as me! A KEEPER!

Butter Fried Parsnips
Parsnips have never been a favorite veggie for me, BUT....This IS the way to serve them! So good, and the parsnip taste was subtle. My children liked them, who are 4 and 5. This recipe would impress your guests at Thanksgiving. What a nice change from the usual mashed veggies served during holidays!

Chocolate Icing
Perfect on the "Deep Dish Brownies" on this site. Fudgy-like. It firmed up fairly quickly, therefore made it easy to spread, and not drip off the brownies. I actually found myself scooping up spoonfuls of it up, and eating it. Sinfully good!
