My husband is in post-grad work and I'm working full-time. I'm a transplant from the South and it definitely shows in my cooking and entertaining. I LOVE to cook for others but I have a reputation for cooking for a small army every time. Comfort food. Mostly main dishes. Not too much baking. I LOVE my crock pot and freezer. Some of my favorite dishes are: crockpot lasagna, crockpot macaroni and cheese, crockpot roast...you get the idea. I love the holidays, esp. Thanksgiving. It isn't Thanksgiving without my mom's usual dishes--cornbread dressing, early peas, squash casserole, sweet potato casserole and mincemeat pie. Anything with Blue Heaven (my standing mixer)! I've been cooking and baking up a storm with it--mashed potatoes, bread doughs, cookie doughs and more! Cheesecake! My best friend and I attempted our first cheesecake for about 12 of our friends. We blackened the top of it when we left it on high too long! OOPS!
