I think this is my favorite and most frequented website. Some of my greatest, most complimented recipes are from here.
My favorite things to cook
desserts, cookies, casseroles, bread and rolls
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sunday dinners of roast and mashed potatoes and gravy. I still remember it like it was yesterday. What a great mom we had to manage such a wonderful meal not only on sundays but pretty much every day. I try to do the same for my family. I love making my husband's favorites on his birthday.
My cooking triumphs
The Cream Puff Cake from this website. I made it for a friend and he loved it so much he wanted me to teach him how to make it for his family. They were impressed. I've had many other successes, but being voted the best cook of my siblings by my sisters was a huge compliment. My sister says she knows any recipe I tell her to try will be great. My best success is when I make a dish my husband says is in the top 5 or top 10 (which of course is alot more than 5 or 10). That's when I consider it a success!
My cooking tragedies
Oh gosh, too many to name. When I tried to rice krispy treats for a guy liked in high school and melted the spatula but still gave him the treats with chunks of melted plastic in them. That was probably one of the first tragedies. Every now and then something isn't very good but major tragedies are rare. A few weeks ago I tried a recipe that was supposed to be Paradise Bakery's Sugar Cookies and I didn't use cake flour- I'm not sure if that was the problem but they were totally nasty. We had to chuck the whole batch.
