About this Cook
I love to try things out, Hubby does a lot of my dinners and they are wonderful, he gets them from here and the TV. On my days off, I cook and he loves my cooking, too.
My favorite things to cook
chicken, cakes, cookies, salads, pastas shrimp and a whole lot of others. I submitted my kids Favorite one Boogers on a Stick for Halloween. Hope it gets in!
My favorite family cooking traditions
arroz con pollo. (Chicken and rice) Always a good fall back, add black beans a red wine vinaigrette salad and Cuban bread loaf, I'm happy.
My cooking triumphs
I made Bollios called my dad told him and was able to make it for him, He loved it. They are shaped like little football loaves and you core them out and filled with refried beans or what have you, for us as kids this was our night dinner before bed with hot cocoa. Sleep came very easily..lol Am still on the elusive cuban bread recipe hunt, I want the ones like you buy in Miami or Orlando for 99 cents! Up here in the Panhandle hard to find. Also making my first eggroll.
My cooking tragedies
Making my first baked chicken and not knowing to check the cavity..lol thought it was an organ and pondered the logistics of paper kind of membrane holding organs in chicken, till my Mom told me otherwise!!!! By the way did I mention I was 10 years old at the time!!! LOL and yes it still gets brought up on holiday dinners~~~~~lol

Korean BBQ Short Ribs (Gal-Bi)
Tried it and loved it, did the crock pot way, used frozen beef ribs, threw everything in. Also made a veg. melody with squash, zuc's, tomatoes, green onions and onion in sesame oil and soy sauce,(What I had on hand) stripped the meat from the bone and since it pulled apart easily shredded it into the veggies and added left over liquid from crock pot, used baster to get liquid under beef grease, then with what was left put in freezer to skim off for later use on other recipes. Served it all over fluffy rice, Hubby loved it, he added more soy sauce for his taste, all in all it's a keeper. Thanks!!

Grandma's Eggless, Butterless, Milkless Cake
Was dying for something chocolate, but since I can't have any dairy, looked up and found this cake and made it, following the hints and ideas added for this recipe and added cinnamon to the sprayed pan instead of flour.. more flavor.. came out excellent Hubby likes it too, he had cool whip, I had confection sugar on mine. When I am in the mood will make a frosting for it..am thinking the cinnabons frosting..YUM! Most flavorful. Thank You for the recipes and all the hints..
