About this Cook
I am a military wife for 10 years. I have 3 kids that I adore and one fur baby poodle! ;) I love to cook and try recipes. Baking is something that I excel at. I work with special education students. I bake for all of the holidays and ususally enough for all the kids in my children's classes and the kids that I work with. That would be around 75 goodies each holiday!
My favorite things to cook
Southern food, cookies, quick breads, pies, cakes, casseroles but trying new things is just the best!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother is a very southern cook. I grew up on home grown tomatoes, biscuits and gravy, bacon, eggs, beans, cornbread and all that you would think is southern.
My cooking triumphs
Making the cakes for my kiddos birthdays.
My cooking tragedies
I have yet to master the perfect biscuits and gravy like Momma used to make.

Saltine Toffee
I love these! Be careful not to overcook these! Set your timer! I burnt my fist batch. :(

Jimmbo's Garlic Knots
This recipe is awesome! The only thing wrong with the recipe is that it calls for way too much fresh garlic. I shook off the excess garlic from knots and they were really good. I used dried parm in the can it seemed to work better than fresh parm would. The next time I make these, I will reduce the fresh garlic to only 1-2 teaspoons. I will add garlic powder. I used fresh parsley to this and it is a really pretty presentation. Definitely try these!

Cheddar and Olive Balls
These were sooo yummuy! I will definitely be making these in the future for a party. Per another reviewer's suggestion, I added a little of the olive brine to the dough and it made it quite smooth. I also added a little ranch dressin mix instead of paprika for a zesty tang! I coated the olives in a little flour too, this enabled the dough to stick to the olive a little easier.
