About this Cook
I have been married for 22 years and have 2 children. We are all big sports fans. Football is our favorite sport. Our favorite team is the Chicago Bears. We try to eat supper as a family ever evening if possible. We love being with our friends and families. I like to cook recipes without a lot of fancy ingredients. My husband is also a great cook. I am a little shy about trying recipes with ingredients I have not heard of. Our family is very active so I like to look for recipes that can go into a slow cooker or have few ingredients and low prep time.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to bake are probably desserts. I also enjoy making main dishes that have a low prep time. I like to cook healthy food that doesn't have a lot of strange ingredients. My family doesn't always like to try way out recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Of course our favorite family cooking traditions are Christmas cookies. We are usually in the kitchen for days preparing and baking cookies for friends and family. We also have pizza on Sunday evenings. Sometime delivery and sometimes homemade. I get together with a friend every fall and we can applesauce and bake pies for the winter months.
My cooking triumphs
Cheese cake Now I love to bake cheese cake. Canning applesauce and tomatoes. Always thought canning was difficult. Thanks to a good friend I am no longer afraid to can.
My cooking tragedies
Pan fried chicken - Shortly after I got married I tried to cook pan fried chicken like my great grandma. Had the heat too high and burnt the chicken to a crisp. Have never tried it again.

Chicken Fried Steak III
This is a keeper. The only thing I did was reduce the cayenne pepper and chili powder. A little messy to make. The family did like it, so I will make it again.
