Cheesy Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2009
Very good and easy! I too skipped the sugar. Used regular russet potatoes (about 5) b/c that is what I had on hand and regular onion because I was out of chives. Also used left-over turkey bacon. Will make again - thanks!

Julia's Easy Slow Cooker Chicken

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
Super easy. I threw 4 frozen chicken breasts in the crockpot with quartered potatoes, a can of chicken gravy, a half can of water mixed with the onion soup mix and turned it to med-high for 5 hours. When it was almost ready, it still seemed soupy, so I added some flour mixed with water to thicken it up. Smelled and tasted delicious.

Gary's Turkey Burritos

Reviewed: May 11, 2009
These were really good and easy to make. I never heard of hot tomato sauce, so I used 1 can of regular sauce and then filled the can with salsa and added that. I used frozen corn b/c that is what I had. I wrapped the burritos and baked them with a little cheese on the inside and more sprinkled on top. Served with sour cream and hot sauce on the side. Also used whole wheat tortillas. Loved them and will make again for sure!

Super Bowl Bites

Super easy and delicious! I used almost a whole packet of onion mix and it was good, but quite onion-y. Would probably stick with half packet next time. Will definitely make again!!

I just don't get it. To me, they were dry and boring. And way too delicate. Will not make again.

Excellent! Used only one box pasta. Used fresh garden tomatoes and added kosher salt. Better than Olive Garden!

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Jul. 15, 2008
This was great, but I made some minor changes. First, instead of minced onion, I used a whole packet of onion soup mix, as we love that in ground beef. Then, for the topping, I skipped the brown sugar and added a couple drops of liquid smoke. My husband loved the topping this way and wanted more, so next time I will double the batch. Very juicy, tender meatloaf, but the topping really makes it. Also very easy, so will make again.

No-Fuss Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2008
I was so hopeful about this recipe and I don't know how I could have screwed it up, but I thought it was bland, bland, bland! Made with Stove Top Savory Stuffing Mix. Skipped the ketchup as I am not a big fan of ketchup on meatloaf, but used an au jus style gravy. I even added some chopped onion and steak seasoning to the mix...would absolutely not make again, sorry.

Onion Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2007
I halved the recipe and used bbq sauce instead of ketchup. It was very tender and had a good taste, however it was very crumbly. The bottom also got a bit burned, but that may have been because I shortened the cooking time and had to use the high setting at the end. Not sure I would make again in the crockpot due to crumblines, but may try in the oven.

Charleston Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2007
Excellent. I skipped the butter, used 12 eggs, a little over 2 cups of milk, 1 red pepper, 1/4 cup chopped onion and extra croutons and cheese to fill a 13x9" glass pan. Got compliments from all at Easter Brunch and reheated leftovers were very good too. I did make the day before and just popped in the oven in the morning. Baked for 45 minutes.

Black Bean Tortilla Casserole

Very good and healthy too! I used frozen chopped onions and peppers to save time and also added some chopped green onions between the layers and on top with the final layer of cheese. Easy and even my husband commented on how good it was. Will make again.

Very good, easy meatloaf recipe. Stayed together well. I added real bacon bits pressed into the top, over a sprinkle of additional worcestershire.

Tuna Noodle Casserole I

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2007
I give it 4 stars only because I had to make some changes. But, I am throwing away my old cream soup tuna noodle casserole recipe. This was awesome! I used 3 tbsp. each of flour and butter, and added seasoned salt and onion powder. I also increased the milk to 1 1/2 cups and added several healthy splashes of cooking sherry. I also used 2 cans of tuna and about 10-12 ounces (almost a whole bag) of egg noodles. I used half an 8 oz. package of sharp shredded cheddar in the sauce and then threw the rest on top before baking. (Probably could have used less on top). I baked covered for 20 minutes and then added crushed potato chips and baked another 10 minutes uncovered. Kind of tasted like a cross between mac 'n cheese and tuna casserole. Without any cream soup taste. Excellent, thank you, will make again!!

A Simply Perfect Roast Turkey

Excellent and easy way to make a turkey that tastes great and comes out looking picture perfect. Used chicken stock instead of turksy stock because that's all that was left at the store. Be sure to baste every 30 minutes. Excellent!

Soft Molasses Cookies V

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2006
These were pretty good. Fairly easy to make. However, I needed to cook for about 11 minutes and they are not crispy on the outside. If you like a soft, more ball-shaped cookie, these are great. I though molasses cookies would flatten more. I rolled in red and green sugar prior to baking as another reviewer described for a more festive look. Good molasses flavor.
